Take the 40-second elevator ride to Sydney Tower’s observation decks and restaurants, more than 1,000 feet (300 meters) above street level in the center of Sydney. Opened in the 1980s, the tower has become a firm favorite with locals and visitors. It’s a much-loved part of the Sydney skyline.
The tower is divided into four sections. The main observation deck, known as the Sydney Tower Eye, is on the top level. Fully enclosed and surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass, the deck offers 360-degree views of Sydney and beyond. From here, see all the way to the Blue Mountains and up and down the coastline. Multilingual touch screens, high-powered binoculars and a 4-D cinema experience will get you familiar with Sydney in no time. Navigate the city with ease once you return to ground level.
For an unforgettable Sydney dining experience, head to the bars and restaurants on the lower three levels. The 360 Bar and Dining rotates as you eat, while Sydney Tower Buffet is perfect for families. For fine dining and cocktails, head to Sky Venue located on level three.
Get the ultimate scenic high on a Skywalk. During this experience, you’ll don a special jumpsuit, strap on a safety harness, and step out onto the glass-floored viewing platforms that are more than twice the height of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Throughout the 45-minute walk an experienced guide will show you the city landmarks. Cameras and mobile phones are prohibited for safety reasons however, professional photographs are available.
Sydney Tower is centrally located on Market Street, one of Sydney’s busiest downtown streets. Public transport is the easiest option to reach the tower, which is open daily. The observation deck is closed on Christmas Day.

Reviews of Sydney Tower Eye
5/5 - Excellent
A Most do with the Sky High Feast. My boys 5 and 8 years old loved going to the top of the tower and eating while the tower slowly does a 360 degree rotation around the city.
5/5 - Excellent
My friend and I decided to go up on a whim. We were pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the views were from up there. It is the tallest building in Sydney, and I didn't expect such great views as it is in the middle of the downtown area. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how much you were able to see. I've been to many tall buildings in many different cities, but it is definitely unique to be able to see the tops of tall skyscrapers since you are located in the tallest building. Since the tower is several blocks away from the Darling Harbour pier, there are a lot of beautiful views of the water and city. I truly recommend!
3/5 - Okay
Lots of construction in the area made it difficult to get there...
4/5 - Good
Best bet is to just go up for a drink, you still have to spend a minimum of $20 (but that's pretty much 1 drink), and you still get great views on the rotating platform.
5/5 - Excellent
Go here at the end of your trip. You'll have more fun finding and pointing out the places you were instead of wondering where everything is.
3/5 - Okay
We were there for sunset in early September, had no wait to get up, and it was just okay. Better views from our hotel, Squire’s Landing or the Glenmore Hotel.
