Unfortunately, we hit the Vatican at a time when things were very crowded, and some things were closed because of the Pope’s passing. That was obviously not in the tour’s control and they did a good job pivoting. That said, the guide was very difficult to understand (particularly in the museum) and he seemed very overwhelmed and frenzied. He flew through the museum very fast, talking about how there wasn’t enough oxygen because of the crowd, but leaving half of our group behind frequently. I sometimes fell 2-3 rooms behind him, and my already poor quality audio became disconnected. I saw several people in our group just give up on listening altogether. I tried, but I think I only caught about 25% of what he said. The audio provided for St Peters Basilica was better and, as a result, that part of the tour was more enjoyable. Again, however, I feel like we missed a lot of potentially interesting information. For example, a group of worshipers went in immediately in front of us in some sort of ceremony and it would have been interesting to hear about what was going on. All in all, I would probably recommend a different tour.

The meeting place was a bit far and a long walk from the entrance. The tour took a long time talking about pieces that are in the Vatican. I wish it talked about the history of the place instead of certain pieces in the museum. I did not expect to get a history of the items in the Vatican instead of the Vatican itself. Also I sent a message to the operator more than once to answer a few questions prior to the meeting but they never responded which I think is a bad customer service. I feel a self guided tour would have been better as you can learn about the things that catches your eyes at your own pace instead of things that the guide whats to talk about. The skip the line entrance was definitely helpful but there was a line to the skip the line line.

I wish it wasn't so crowded but the tour guide is absolute sweetheart. I like her pace and provided enough information that you don't feel like it's information overload. The tour company had to rearrange the schedule due to current events at the Vatican. They made up for us missing the Sistine chapel due to conclave by providing skip the line ticket to pay our visit to Pope Francis final resting place at Sta. Maria Maggiore.

This tour is absolutely awful. It is not possible to see all of the things that are crammed on this tour within the 3 hrs allotted, so the guide rushes you through so fast that you can’t appreciate any of it. The Vatican and St. Peter’s were crowded and there were times that the group got separated because our tour group of 20 were practically chasing the guide through the crowd. The tour was oversold and I felt like the guide and Viator knew (or should have known) the kind of experience we’d have. I felt like we were all just viewed as dollar signs and they didn’t care about the experience of the tour. If you want to see both the Vatican museum and St. Peter’s, I would recommend splitting them up on two separate tours. This was literally the WORST tour I have ever been on.
