Just a short drive outside of the bustling Waikiki city lies the peaceful wilderness of the Manoa Valley Rainforest. Experience a 1.5-mile trail that's great for all ages and experience levels, including some of the island's most iconic views.
With transportation from 10 Waikiki hotels included, an enthusiastic and knowledgeable local guide will drive you up into the stunning Manoa Valley, often referred to as the “Valley of Rainbows”. Home to the filming locations of several Hollywood films, like Jurassic World and Lost, the valley is rich with native Hawaiian plant life and animals. You will be outfitted with a hiking stick and water bottle before starting on the trail. Be sure to bring comfortable clothes and shoes!
As you walk among ancient banyan trees, past gigantic ferns and through enchanting bamboo forests, your guide will share fascinating ecological facts and cultural information. Learn the story of the mysterious 'Menehune', which Hawaiian rainforest plants are edible and the names of colorful tropical birds and flowers. After about a 45-minute walk, you will arrive at a waterfall! Take in the serene sound of falling water and get memorable photos in one of the most stunning scenes on Oahu.
After the waterfall, you'll head right back out the way you came, giving you the opportunity to take any photos you missed and explore the trail further. Once back at the van, your guide will drive you to the Tantalus lookout to refuel with a healthy lunch!
