Celestún: A natural paradise awaits you in Yucatán
Are you looking for an adventure and nature getaway? Immerse yourself in the beauty of the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve, a wildlife sanctuary that will leave you breathless. From Mérida, we will take you on a private trip to western Yucatán, where an unforgettable experience awaits you.
Aboard a boat guided by a local expert, you will enter a magical world of mangroves, home to 560 animal species. Keep your eyes wide open, as you will have the opportunity to spot tiger herons, gulls, Canadian ducks, crocodiles, and even spider monkeys. If you are lucky, you might witness a close encounter with an ocelot.
The majestic spectacle of pink flamingos:
Celestún is famous for being one of the main breeding sites for the pink flamingo in Yucatán. From November to April, these elegant animals star in an unparalleled spectacle with their low flights and courtship. Don't miss the opportunity to witness this wonderful spectacle of nature!
Exploration of Bird Island and refreshing dip in a spring:
We will continue our boat tour to Bird Island, where we will admire its rich birdlife. Afterwards, we will venture into a mangrove tunnel that will transport you to a movie-like setting. Discover a spring in the middle of the mangroves. If the weather allows, you can immerse yourself in its crystal-clear and revitalizing waters to mitigate the heat and renew energy.
Tasting Yucatecan cuisine and relaxation on the beach:
To culminate this unforgettable experience, we will head to the beautiful beach of Puerto de Celestún. Delight in the authentic flavors of the Yucatecan coast in a typical restaurant by the sea. Relax with the spectacular view of the emerald waters, take a dip in the sea, sunbathe, and walk along the sand enjoying the sea breeze. Your guide will offer you restaurant options recommended by us, if you want the privacy of a Beach Club, you can request it from your guide at the beginning of the tour and we will gladly help you with the reservation (tickets not included).
If you are a nature lover and passionate about photography, you cannot leave Yucatán without visiting this ecological paradise!
Important note: Flamingo sightings are not guaranteed, as it depends on factors such as weather conditions and migration season. The recommended period for flamingo sightings is from December 15 to March 15. The rest of the year you can spot Flamingos, in small quantities but you can always be close to them in their natural habitat.
