This review may seem overly critical, but it is completely fair given my expectations and what I believe others would want. The tea was excellent: great quality and selection. The food was good, but nothing special. When you pay over $100 per person for a “Royal” tea, you expect the EXPERIENCE to live up to the billing—it did not. The room is just off the main hotel foyer. It was busy, loud, and chaotic. The description of overlooking the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is grossly misleading; you look out a first floor window to the street. The atmosphere didn’t seem special at all. The staff was nice but not particularly attentive—I had to call over staff for EVERYTHING that we needed: missing condiments for the scones, additional tea, additional sandwiches (which they only brought 1 of each for my party of 2). The most attention we received was a regular countdown for them closing (15 minutes earlier than the reservation stated), beginning at 10 minutes, then 7, then 4, then 2…

We absolutely loved this and would highly recommend this to everyone. The tea was great and there was a lot of variety to choose from. The sandwiches and the scones were out of this world so different and so delicious. We had great seats across from the Palace and got to see everyone going to the King & Queens Garden party. This is a top- notch event.
