A tourist trap afternoon tea! At £40 each this is a basic offering. We requested a vegetarian afternoon tea which was substituted with 2 truffle egg fingers and 2 curried cauliflower wraps with no refills. The scones were nice and warm served with cream and a small jar of strawberry jam each. The cakes were unremarkable, one of which was inedible and did not taste pleasant. The teas are refillable and because of the booking we didn’t have to queue to get into the museum. There are many more better options in London so would not recommend.

I was looking forward to my first tea experience in London & disappointed I was not able to request vegan options. I cannot have dairy and do not eat meat. I understand that they need time to prepare scones & finger food, Expedia should have provided a contact , so that I could have requested this before going. Waitress seemed bothered to help but provided an eggplant dish ( not good) . The tea was good, but I did not have the experience I was hoping for.

I was actually pretty impressed with the tea party at the British museum. Our previous complaints about Expedia, having a hard time making arrangements for gluten allergy. The previous Tea party I attended, they had no information about my problems so I did the entire event just drinking tea. This team didn’t have the information either, but they accommodated me making me a vegetarian gluten free option. Kudos for them. They were excellent. So I will recommend this tour .

After bringing the food to our table we didn't see a waiter at all until I flagged one down to ask for hot tea, which had been brought to us almost cold. The lack of interest and service at this establishment was so bad I would never encourage anyone to go for Afternoon Tea at the British Museum. There was plenty of help there, they just didn't do a thing.
