Along the way and right up to your lodge, spot zebras, impalas, elands, buffalos, oribis, Defassa waterbucks, leopards, hippos, hyenas, topis, reedbucks, and the regal bushbucks atop termite mounds. Marvel at the Nubian giraffes, translocated from Murchison Falls, and the iconic Ankole long-horned cows grazing nearby. After lunch, head out for an evening game drive, searching for more wildlife and enjoying the park’s 350 bird species. As the day ends, capture the breathtaking sunset framed by acacia or cactus trees—a perfect moment for photographers.

Start your day with a steaming cup of coffee before setting off on an early morning nature walk in Lake Mburo National Park, guided by a well-armed ranger. On foot, the wild comes alive—no engine noise, just the soft crunch of grass underfoot as you get closer to zebras, antelopes, and birds without startling them. Breathe in the cool morning air as your ranger shares fascinating insights about the park’s flora and fauna. After two hours, return for a hearty breakfast before embarking on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the famed home of mountain gorillas. Along the way, rolling hills, lush valleys, and breathtaking landscapes will tempt you to keep your camera ready for the perfect shot.

  • Meals: breakfast, lunch, snacks
  • Accommodation: Overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge - rustic yet cozy rooms with private en-suite bathrooms.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
  • 8h
Today is the long-awaited gorilla trekking adventure! After breakfast, head to the briefing point where a ranger explains the dos and don’ts of meeting these gentle giants, answering any questions before you set off. With sturdy hiking shoes and perhaps a hired porter to carry your gear, follow your ranger deep into the jungle to where trackers have found the gorilla family. The moment you meet them is unforgettable—one magical hour in their presence, each reaction unique yet equally awe-inspiring. If energy allows after the trek, opt for a nature walk to a waterfall and visit the Batwa pygmies, the forest’s original inhabitants, who will share their traditional lifestyle and ancient skills.
Day 4: Bwindi - Lake Bunyonyi
  • 1 stop
  • Meals: breakfast
  • Accommodation: Overnight at Bird Nest Resort - cozy rooms with mountain and lake views.
Lake Bunyonyi

Today you journey to the “Switzerland of Africa.” Leaving Bwindi, the road winds through stunning scenery until terraced hills unfold before you. As you near Lake Bunyonyi, its beauty becomes clear—29 emerald islands scattered across what is said to be Africa’s second deepest lake. From the hills above Kabale town, the view is simply breathtaking. After a delicious lunch at the charming Bird Nest Resort, your home for the night, set off on a serene boat ride to explore the lake’s islands. Along the way, watch locals skillfully navigate traditional canoes, their main mode of transport between these peaceful, green isles.
Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi - Kampala
  • 1 stop
  • Meals: breakfast
  • Accommodation: Not included
Uganda Equator
  • 2h
  • Admission ticket included
Our adventure may be ending, but there’s one last highlight! On the drive back to Kampala, stop at the equator for a fascinating water experiment that reveals how forces differ on each side of the line. A local guide will demonstrate the unique movement of water in the northern and southern hemispheres—a fun and mind-bending experience. This is also the perfect spot for final souvenir shopping, from vibrant African wear to handcrafted treasures displayed in charming roadside shops. With memories made and stories to tell, continue to Kampala. Thank you for travelling with Climax Nature Experience!
