Founded as a market town in medieval times, Ringsted was once the seat of the Danish royal family. Discover Zealand’s natural scenery by biking and walking along Ringsted Oplevelsessti, a trail that cuts through Vrangeskov Forest on the shores of Haraldsted Lake. Kærehave Wood is magical at Christmas when it hosts a festive holiday tree market. Spot 150 bird species, amphibians and reptiles at Kværkeby Bird Sanctuary.
