What you can expect

Stand on the sandy shores where the Allied forces landed on D-Day, ushering in the end to the tragedies and battles of World War II. On this day trip from Paris, visit Normandy's American Cemetery, gain historical insight at the Operation Overlord Museum, and see the soil where lives were lost in defense of liberty.

Meet up with your guide and small group in Paris and hop into a comfortable minibus for the ride north toward Normandy and the Atlantic coast. Your guide has plenty of expertise as well as an insightful array of military maps, plans, and photos, which all help to paint a picture of the events of D-Day and their impact on the liberation of France and the ending of World War II.

Visit the American Cemetery, where neat rows of white crosses blanket a grassy hillside overlooking the sea, and pay your somber respects to the soldiers and heroes who fell here. Next, take a stirring visit to Omaha Beach, seeing the French and American flags waving in the ocean breeze, and gaze out over the cliffs and sands that saw one of the war's most decisive and dramatic battles. Hear stories about soldiers and civilians as you visit the Operation Overlord Museum, where informative exhibits detail the planning and events of the Normandy landing. Your excursion also lets you glimpse the culture and scenery of bucolic Normandy, wrapping up with a tasting of locally produced apple cider before the return ride to Paris.

Outstanding tour! Our guide, Matt, was very knowledgeable and personable and such a "nice Guy"! The small group also makes a big difference. He brought us to a small local restaurant, where we had the best meal and such a great conversation.

Our tour guide was an hour late (not her fault) but the company did not answer their phone or text messages from other people in our group. Nobody knew what was going on. Everyone was stressing out until someone in our group got a hold of a representative from Trip Advisor. Otherwise, our tour guide (Olivia) was very knowledgably in her history and personable. The only open restaurant in that area the food was subpar. The cider tasting was disappointing.
