Consider the similarities between humans and monkeys in the Primate Zone. Gaze up at the colorful parrots and other tropical birds in the Aviary Zone.

Among the popular areas is the African Zone, where you will find majestic lions. See elephants stomping around their enclosure, watch hippos at play and check out the giraffes.

Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the green parkland of this zoo. Arrive early to see staff members feeding some of the animals. Lay down a blanket and enjoy a picnic in this zoo, which was declared a Protected Natural Area in 1981. It was initially built atop a former 16th-century Franciscan estate.

The zoo opens daily from morning until late afternoon. There is a fee to enter, with discounts for kids.
