I had an amazing stay here. My friends said I outdid myself book it. It's a gorgeous room and such a cozy vibe, it is like staying at your (wealthy) big sister's house. The staff was way too kind and helped us during a rainy weekend when our original plans at SML got thwarted. I highly recommend staying here!

I found this place through YouTube and this place did not disappoint. Staff was accommodating and checked us in an hour early. Room was modern and clean. Easy to get to anywhere. Breakfast was delicious. I will definitely stay here again.

Our room was roomy and wonderful with a chic design and balcony fronted by trees. The owners/staff really take care of this place and their service was outstanding. Breakfast is prepared by them and served to our room. The location is near the main bus station and town center. We bought our ropeway and bike ride tickets from the staff.

Sun Moon Inn is strategically located within a 3 min walk from Shuishe Bus Station where all coaches will stop for visitors to Sun Moon Lake. There are many restaurants in the surroundings with plenty of choices for food and also convenient stores such as 7-11 nearby. If you wish to take the ferry or join the round-island bus ride, the harbour is also just a short walk from Sun Moon Inn, and the round-island bus stop is also located at Shuishe. In terms of facilities, the room is spacious and comforable. It is fully equipped with aircon, kettle, TV, slippers and toiletries. The bed and sofa are very comfortable and the modernized concept provides a new feeling from normal hotel. I enjoyed my stay in Sun Moon Inn and would strongly recommend Sun Moon Inn for visitors to Sun Moon Lake.

It was a beautiful, modern, large room in a good location. Breakfast was good and owners were pleasant. Only negative and it is a small one is that check in is from 3-7pm which can create some stress making sure you come back from whatever you are doing in time to get your key. We enjoyed the stay at the inn completely.

A stylish stay at Sun Moon Lake
My family had a wonderful stay at this very stylish and well-appointed hotel. The breakfast in the morning was some of the best food we had in Taiwan, and we really appreciated the warm hospitality of our hosts, particularly when travelling with our baby.

Truly lovely boutique inn on the north shore of Sun Moon Lake (in Yuchi Township). Three things made our stay extraordinary: 1. The staff: they are so proud of their little hotel and go above and beyond to ensure their guests experience the best of Taiwanese hospitality 2. The design: the stunning minimalist design of the space is so calming that even simply walking around you feel relaxed 3. The breakfast (included in your stay): different every morning, totally local and seasonal, I was so excited to wake up each morning and see what they were serving! The location of the hotel is a couple minutes walk to where all of the buses drop off and to the pier with the ferries. It's also close to the walking and biking trails, as well as a couple dozen restaurants and shops. One thing to note is that the walls that surround both the shower and the toilet rooms do not go all the way up to the ceiling, leaving a gap which means all matter of noises and sounds travel back-and-forth between the room and the toilet.

We spent three nights at Sun Moon Inn in April 2019 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was accurately represented by the photos on Expedia and was confortable, clean and nicely furnished. The staff were really welcoming, and gave us a thorough introduction to the Lake and what we could do there. The hotel is very well located, just three minutes walk from the bus station and five minutes from the Shuishe Pier. There are lots of walks and activities nearby. The breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented; each day was different and freshly prepared. I would definitely recommend Sun Moon Inn to any travellers to the Lake and am thankful to Nisa, Lucy, Kate and James for a wonderful stay.

Fantastic stay
The stay was extremely pleasant. The host greeted us as soon as we stepped into the hotel. After checking in she gave us a comprehensive overview of the areas to explore, some of which were hidden gems that were not so well known by tourists. The rooms were very modern and clean, and provided a visually warm atmosphere. Our rooms were on the 3rd floor. There were elevator built in the building so that we didn't have to walk up the stairs. The complimentary breakfast prepared by the staff themselves was great. They used local ingredients and the food was healthy and tasty. This is one of the best B&B style places I've ever stayed in and I highly recommend it to other travelers.

Worth the price!
Great find - easy to communicate with the owner, who is always available and does everything in his power to make the stay perfect. The room is comfortable, with a soothing design. Top marks for cleanliness. Our air conditioning stopped working on the second day, and he tried to fix it then brought in a technician the next day. In the meantime we were given the possibility of using a second room, which we were able to keep throughout our stay, which was a nice touch to avoid having to pack up our things for the 11th time in a month! Would stay again.

The price is rather expensive for the stay. Read from the past reviews about the owners but turned out they are average, not as friendly as stated. Room was not clean as expected. Hot water flask is rather old and dirty. The water cooked by the hot water flask has a layer from white substances. Location was alright. Near some restaurants but its at the less happening side of the town.

Everything was amazing - proximity to Shuishe drop-off point, friendly hosts, healthy n yummy breakfast made personally by the host, rustic designed room which was clean n comfy. The hosts even upgraded us to a bigger n newer room which was built last October. Thumbs up!

The place is held by Nisa and James, they are both truly wonderful hosts! :) Their place is spacious with natural lights, and modern wooden design. The room was clean, spacious, very comfortable king size bed, and a lot of space to display our belongings. The washroom was clean, the shower is well pressured! The morning breakfast is made upon your presence at the dining table with freshly picked ingredients! The location of Sun Moon Inn is very convenient! Walking distance to bus terminal, ferry port, bicycle path, bike shops, local shops and 7-11. We loved our experience, and highly recommend this place to you! :)

Impossible to fault...
This is without a doubt one of the nicest boutique style hotels I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. The owner was a wonderful guy who went out of his way to help us (even texting when breakfast, prepared by his wife, was ready). And speaking of the breakfast, it was the best I can remember having... pork with a passion fruit sauce, highland vegetables, blueberries as well as a salad comprising lettuce, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, banana, dragon fruit, orange and mayonnaise. Sure it’s an unusual combination, but it works wonderfully... all served with a good coffee and the local black tea. Can not recommend this hotel highly enough!!

Warm welcome, nice host couple, restful and nice decoration and simply the best and most special breakfast I've ever had in Taiwan in 10 years. It made us surprised and happy to start the day. The host said everything she cooked were natural ingredients taken from the neighborhood. It was 3 degree outside but the aircon could be changed into heater and we weren't cold. Choices of soap was nice too.

A Minsu with personal touch
Take a little effort to find this Minsu. It is a gem along the small street near the ferry terminal. Don’t be deceived by its outlook. The moment my taxi arrived, the lady owner, Nisa was there to welcome us. I was impressed by her hospitality, as we only stayed for one night she quickly arranged our ferry trip around Sun Moon Lake. Thank you so much for her kind effort to upgrade one of my rooms to a bigger room as my Taiwanese friend came over to stay with me. The room was big n cosy. The next morning, she prepared sumptuous breakfast for us. We get to try her home grown organic tea too. We really had a relax and enjoyable stay in Sun Moon Inn. The only regret was the stay was too short. We will definitely come back for at least three days stay on my next Taiwan trip.

A perfect combination of style and comfort
The owner couple, Nisa and James are both sincere and helpful. Nisa prepared home cooked breakfast for us and other guests every morning. Her cooking was fresh and delightful. James spent time going over the local attractions and shared their favorite trail nearby - the view of sun moon lake from the top was amazing. The hotel was designed by a local architect in a unique style similar to that of Frank Lloyd Wright. We truly enjoyed our 4-night stay. Sun Moon Lake has so much to explore. Staying at Sun Moon Inn makes the whole experience a truly memorable one.

An extraordinary experience
We had 4 rooms and we all love the modern design of each of the rooms. They were spacious, very functional and clean. For those who can't live without wifi, there's good news! Every room has its own wifi router, so definitely no issue with signal strength. And there are more than enough power points too. Love the fresh produce (from the backyard) used for breakfast. All prepared by the very friendly lady owner, Lisa. She shared with us that the building was the newest block around the neighbourhood. She also assured us that it was built with the technology to withstand earthquakes after she heard us talking about a mild tremor the night before. Last but not least, I want to thank the owner, James and Lisa for their exceptional hospitality. The evening when we arrived, James and Lisa noticed that my boy was coughing and he offered to drive us to the children doctor, which was in another town, and then took us back. We were touched by the gesture. Overall, it was an extraordinary experience. We loved the rooms and the owners were fabulous people!

Super chic and boutique accommodation
The accommodation was extremely easy to find. It was just a stone throw away from the drop-off station and the place is extremely secure. Nisa met us at the front desk and briefed us on the accommodation and what to do at Sun Moon Lake. Since we were only staying for a night, she suggested an itinerary which worked extremely well for that day and the next. We left our baggages at the accommodation upon checking out, so that we could explore around Sun Moon Lake by the ferries. If you are a hiking type of person, Nisa suggested a route to a weather station which is located on top of the mountain. It was quite foggy when we reached the top but the view was stunning! She also suggested us two places for snacks (after hiking) and dinner. Both serve local delicacies (wild boar meat): one with a slightly modern twist in wraps, and the other with ordering shared dishes. We went to both places that evening! Following that, we went back halfway to the mountain to watch fireflies (It was firefly season around Mid April).

Very nice room and very friendly and helpful owner
Room was very well decorated as described and shown in pictures. Excellent location and within 5-10m walking distance to the pier. Most importantly, my wife fell down from cycling and the owner was very helpful and helped her to clean and dress her wound. Big thank you to the owner.

One of the best accommodations I've ever stayed in
Sun Moon Inn was modern, fresh, clean, comfortable and well-located. The owners tried their hardest to speak English, even though it was not their first language, which was appreciated. The room was a perfect size, the bed extremely comfortable, the shower was amazing, and they even gave us some tea which they had grown and dried themselves. If I am ever in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, it was purely amazing!!
