Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Raleigh-Durham Airport, NC
6/10 Okay
"The room was clean and smelled clean despite the age of the hotel. There has been more recent renovation, but the carpet on the 3rd floor was bumpy and did not lay flat against the walls; it made the hotel look very cheap and that I paid for a value/experience i did not receive. The person at the front desk, although nice, had a half-shirt on with her bra and abdomen showing and did not greet me when I came to the desk to check in - very unprofessional. "
"his was my first time I felt unsafe staying at a hotel. Things started off rocky when the receptionist read my room number out loud 2 separate times. I tried to shake it off, there was only 1 person in line behind me and I just wanted to get up to the room. Me and my friend get in the elevator, carrying all of our luggage, and were joined by a man I hadn’t see outside/in the lobby. He wasn’t carrying any bags and when he got in the elevator he didn’t press a floor number. He made small talk and we tried to be polite but also not engage. He gets off the elevator with us and as I’m trying to figure out which way to go it’s very clear he’s following us. Apparently he “forgot where his room was”. I tell my friend we had the wrong floor and as we’re getting back in the elevator he’s right behind us asking questions that are very over the line. We had to block him from getting back in the elevator. We immediately went to the front desk to voice our concerns and were brushed off. They said he was a nice guy and he stays there frequently. We make our way back up to our room quickly, making sure he’s not still trying to follow us. It felt like our concerns weren’t taken seriously due to the relationship between the staff and this man. My friend stayed up most of the night worried about him getting our room number or being able to access our room. The hotel itself seemed clean, nothing it of the ordinary. Please proceed with caution if looking to stay here "
"Although most of our stay was pleasant, it only takes one person to ruin an otherwise good experience.
A couple of small things stood out when we arrived. When I went to use the gym, there was no hand cleaner available. I mentioned it to the person at the front desk, but it didn’t seem to concern them much. I also noticed there was no toilet paper in the bathroom. These are small details, but they are the kind of things that should normally be checked and refilled.
After a long drive from Florida, my wife and I were very tired. We decided to stay in that evening and have a drink and something to eat at the bar before going to bed. When we sat down at the bar, there was only one other couple there. The bartender, Cynthia, was very sweet and attentive from the beginning.
At one point she noticed I was looking at the TV and kindly offered me the remote so I could change the channel. I tried to find something to watch, although the TV was very slow to respond. It wasn’t a big deal—we were mostly just talking.
Eventually another guest came and sat next to me. I offered him the remote, but he politely declined and said he wasn’t interested in watching TV either. We all just continued chatting.
After I ordered my second beer, something unfortunate happened. Before I had even taken a sip, I accidentally knocked the glass over with my left hand and spilled it. It was simply an accident.
A male bartender suddenly came over and immediately said, “This is why we don’t give remotes,"
"Valet Hashim was outstanding
Great location
Neat clean rooms with good air system-quiet
Comfortable bed
Nice front desk greeters
Rooftop bar beautiful evening view"
"Very friendly and efficient staff. Cute little bar & outdoor sitting area. Renovations are tasteful. Wish the rooms were better insulated to reduce noise from other guests. Though off the beaten path - easily walkable to historic downtown Raleigh. Coffee was ok. Wish they had some healthier options for breakfast - fruit, yogurt. Though the pastries are divine. Would stay here again. "
