"This is a true travelers paradise. The perfect place to start your Taiwan adventure. They will be very welcoming the moment you walk-in. I have been traveling for about 6 months and have stayed in many hostels, this has everything you need and they will make sure you know where to eat and explore to really enjoy Taipei. "This is the third time i stay here. First time was in 2019, stayed for a couple of weeks. Fast forward to this year, front desk lady Carrie still recognized me! Staff here all speak very good English. Lobby and common area always kept clean. Beds are comfortable and firm. "

"It was clean: the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the living area (after entry, shoes off, of course). The staff was helpful & friendly. (There was a computer to use.) The place was light & bright: lots of windows. I enjoyed sitting in the living area and watching the city below. I found a street nearby with lots of vegetarian eateries. The place was easy to find, with that video on the "red tower"."

"Good location with lots of options for food but the common room smells like mold and there are cockroaches flying around. It's an older building with very limited space. This place definitely needs some improvement in hygiene manner. Will not stay there again."

Solaria Nishitetsu Hotel Taipei Ximen

"Amazing location, easy access to ximending and ximen station (300m). The only downfall is the lack of facilities in the building e.g. pool, sauna, limited seating for tea and coffee in lobby area. The hotel is very clean and staff is very hospitable and welcoming. Reception was at 6th floor, no concierge or bell boy to help with luggage. Stayed 2 weeks in this hotel and felt very comfortable. Some reviews said it was noisy but we didnt feel that at all. The hotel it self is quite new and the location and access was the reason we chose this hotel. A little bit more pricier than other 4 star hotels we've stayed at overall, we defintely liked our stay but I wouldnt say we LOVED it. Pros: Self service laundry, luggage storage, tea and coffee station, location and the housecleaning. Cons limited facilities: no pool, sauna, small gym, no shampoo/conditioner, no toothbrushes. money exchange was challenging as the hotel only accepted certain currencies e.g. USD, EUR, YEN. Any other currencies you need to go to Bank of Taiwan or Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Shopping Mall. No staff assistance with luggage on check in, no concierge, breakfast was not fantastic for the price we paid, reception is on level 6 not on ground floor. "
