"My fiancé and I stayed here for 6 nights in a deluxe room at the end of February. The room was very spacious and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The resort pools were nice, although they weren’t quite as relaxing as we had hoped. There were a lot of people using SUPs which made it difficult to fully relax by the poolside, and during our stay the beachfront pool was closed due to the fireworks happening every night for Lunar New Year. The gym facilities were also very convenient and well equipped, which was great to have access to during our stay. The location was convenient and very close to the duty-free mall. The restaurants at the resort were also very welcoming and accommodating to my fiancé, who has coeliac disease, which we really appreciated. A special mention goes to Chloe, the foreign concierge, who was an immense help during our stay. As we don’t speak Mandarin, she helped communicate with other staff for us and assisted with various enquiries, which made navigating everything much easier. The rooftop bar was another highlight of the resort, a really nice place to sit, relax, and have a drink in the evening. Overall we had a great stay and appreciated the spacious rooms, helpful staff, and convenient location."

"This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had and completely unworthy of the Westin name or a so-called 5-star rating. The hotel is extremely dirty. After sleeping just one night, my entire arm and back were covered in red, swollen bite marks. This was not a minor irritation — it was obvious and alarming. Cleanliness is the most basic expectation, and this hotel failed badly. Instead of taking responsibility, the hotel tried to blame me, suggesting the bites were caused by eating seafood or doing water sports. This is false. I did none of those things. Rather than investigate their hygiene issues, staff chose to deny and deflect. Even more disturbing, I placed a clear “Do Not Disturb” sign, yet staff entered the room while I was not there. When I returned, things had been disturbed, suggesting an attempt to remove evidence instead of addressing the problem properly. This is a serious violation of guest privacy. Due to health concerns, we requested to leave early, but the hotel refused to refund the unused nights, effectively forcing us to stay the full 3 nights. We contacted Expedia, and the hotel explicitly refused cancellation. Staff even gave us a random phone number that cannot be verified as a Westin contact anywhere online. The room also had a strong mold smell, an issue mentioned in many other reviews, showing long-term neglect. This level of cleanliness, service, and integrity is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. I will not return and strongly caution other"

"My stay at the Sanya Edition was exceptional from the moment I arrived. This vast, 50-acre property impressed with its amenities, including multiple restaurants, pools, and a gym. The experience was elevated by the superb service, such as staff's personal welcome and escort to my room. The spacious room featured beautiful views and premium amenities, most notably a high-tech toilet with washing, drying, and massaging functions. I also enjoyed a great variety of breakfast options. It was amazing. It also offers shuttle service to duty free shopping. "
