"Large modern room with comfortable bed and separate bathtub & shower. Quiet location. Staff do not speak English, which is typical even for Western branded hotels in China. My room smelled a bit like sulfur, strongest near the toilet, but common areas did not. Air conditioner did not work. When reported to front desk, the complaint was met with a shrug. A bit of a walk from the historic area, but a gated walkway serves as a shortcut. "

Two girls attending the checkin counter don't even looked up and greet me or acknowledge my being standing there waiting to be checked in. Just working on their keyboard. "We had a great stay at the No. 5 Valley Lodge! The staff are very accommodating and welcoming. The hotel is located very close to the West Entrance of the park and offers rides to the entrance on days you wish to explore. On our day at the resort, there were fun activities organized by the hotel, a beautiful

overlooking the valley, and rice fields you could walk along! If we ever return to Zhangjiajie, we will be sure to return!"

"We visited the hotel in off season so we have to expect that it is not up to full operation. I believe we were on two guests in this 900 plus room resort. The assistant manager was so helpful to us with researching things to do and places to eat in the area which made things much easier. The rooms were big and comfortable so no complaints there. I took advantage of the inexpensive in-house massages. Easy to get around using Didi. Would probably stay here again. "
