US travelers going to Winnipeg may be delightfully surprised that this 'motel' is really a hotel, with no exterior access to hotel rooms. The free breakfast is decent (scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, bread and a toaster, cereals, hot oatmeal, yogurt, coffee, tea, and juices), and they have a complimentary slushy machine for those so inclined. Rooms are adequately spacious with amenities (coffee machine, microwave, mini fridge). There are plenty of places to eat nearby, as it is located along a well-developed street about 8-9 miles away from the city center. My only gripe is that we were assigned Room 101, the room closest to the front desk, elevator and stairwell to the gym. At night, there was a lot of noise from people letting doors slam and the elevator bell noise going off so, unfortunately, it was difficult to sleep. I would imagine that other rooms there don't have this problem.
