Very nice, well maintained cabin with excellent kitchen facilities. Close to Lake Placid and nestled in trees. Living room had comfortable seating and beds were very comfortable. Excellent place for 4 adults, we enjoyed our stay.

I had a wonderful stay. The fireplace put me right to sleep and the owners accommodated a late checkout so. Could finish a business meeting. It was quite comfy and very oozy.

A fun place with cozy cottages close to Whiteface Mountain (skiing) and Lake Placid. Quaint, clean, and cozy. The cottage/chalet was exactly as described and in the pictures online. The wood burning fireplace was great after a day of skiing, with chairs and a sofa surrounding the fireplace. Parking right at your cottage, with a small porch, and easy in/out of the resort to get to the Lake Placid and Wilmington areas. Supplies and restaurants nearby, and a bit of an adventure feel staying at the Wilderness Inn versus a hotel! Great experience!

What a great find. This one room cabin was perfect for our trip to the area! The kitchen was well equipped, the bathroom was spacious (not an afterthought like some other places), and the staff responsive and helpful. Not only was there a wood burning fireplace, but the facility provided firestarters so that newbies like me could get a nice fire in no time! I will also say that after a full day of skiing, the grab ars in the bathroom and deep tub for soaking was very much appreciated! The cabin was well heated and beds comfy. I'm only disappointed that we didn't get to take advantage of the adorable screened in porch for breakfast in the morning! We will have to come back when the weather is warmer for that. Highly recommend this property!

I’d definitely stay again!!
We had a great stay! Highly recommend!! I specifically booked this cabin for the kitchen but didn’t end up cooking. It looked to have all the basics you would need to prep meals. The bed was super comfy, couch was cozy to read and watch tv. Bathroom and shower were all we needed. The cabin was super cute and communication was on point. Less than 5 min to Whiteface and the High falls gorge plus some other trails. Loved it!!

Great place to stay. Homey and quiet and great service. Easy to get in and out. Fireplace was wonderful. Heating was noisy and the bathroom vent seem to suck smoke out of fireplace. No kitchen. Microwave and coffee maker great. Overall a nice cabin. Nice beds and a little upgrade needed in bathroom and rugs

If you are looking for quiet cabin close to Whiteface Mountain you found it. Away from the busy Lake Placid and a beautiful drive. Cozy little rustic cabin. Great communication, all my questions were answered quickly. Loved that we could bring our dogs.

This was our 2nd time staying at Wilderness Inn, and it was fantastic. Easy contactless check in, convenient, 10 minutes to town/Lake Placid. We enjoyed the outdoors fireplace and the natural environment. We would definitely stay there again!❤️

Two delightful stays in one week!
Loved these rustic cabins in Wilmington so much that I came back and stayed another day later in the week! Lovely quiet area in the woods with outdoor firepit which we enjoyed. The cabins, while obviously older structures, had everything we needed: fridge, microwave, coffee, great hot shower, a little futon/couch, fireplace, and very comfy beds. And pet friendly as a bonus, since my dog always goes hiking with me. Communication with Yann was fantastic. Wonderful place to stay if you like to be off the beaten path like we do. So much better than a hotel/motel room in Lake Placid, at least for us. I can't wait to go back!!

Great 2 night stay!
Had a really nice 2 night stay. Clean Room. Shower, Hot water. Refrigerator and Microwave (although we didn't need to use them). Bed was comfortable and super quiet all around. Few minor improvements could include changing the lock. I had to fiddle around with it to lock it every time. The bathroom could use few Hooks behind the door to hand clothes. Just minor stuff. Excellent stay otherwise. Will book here again for our next Whiteface Mountain area trip! Another thing I'd suggest for the owner to post a warning about Pine Sap falling on your car if you park under the trees. My car smelled so good in the morning after the rain but it has been a nightmare to clean them off the windshield as well as the body of the car. I wish I had known about it as I had a disposable cover I could have used.

Stayed here in the summer (early July), hiking Whiteface and other mountains and hanging out in Placid for a couple days. The inn was perfect for what we needed, at a low price and with plenty of space. The only downside was that everything was a little dated (fine by us, may not be for everyone), and there's no air conditioning - so avoid during the week or two of true Adirondack summer in mid-late July. Would definitely stay again.

My wife and I prefer cabins to hotels or houses, and these were perfect, very clean and cozy. Endless hiking and climbing opportunities. We stayed in the Hemlock and the kitchen was perfect as we love to cook but also ate at the Ice Dam and the Hungry Trout nearby. The outdoor firepits are great and we are planning a fall foliage stay with our grandchildren.

We really loved staying here, even booked a second night! The cozy cabin with the real wood stove was great. Although the cabin is older, it had a perfect vibe to it. Shower pressure and temps were good and bed was comfy. Would happily come back again. Great communication from the hosts was also a great bonus!

I stayed in the Hemlock cabin. It was a quick visit but the cabin was exactly what I needed - relaxing. It set in the back of the property in a secluded area. The setting of being in a wooded area with snow on the ground was perfect. Wilderness Inn is in a excellent location. Close to Whiteface Mountain and many of the high peaks hiking trails.
