Great place for families.

Upon arrival while checking in the receptionist, Novie, seemed to have an attitude toward us, even though we are fellow Filipinos. Instead of being accommodating, when we were simply showing our booking details on our phones, she intimidated us by saying, “Can you wait a moment? I’m still checking your booking details.” The tone of her voice was rude and impatient, and it was obvious that she was annoyed. Every time we enter the hotel and walk pass the front desk Novie would always roll her eyes at us which we know that hotel staff shouldn’t do because they were taught to be respectful and hospitable. It shouldn’t be that way, especially since we are from British Columbia and had just traveled a long way. As service staff, the front desk should make guests feel warm and welcome from the moment they arrive. For two nights, we also requested an extra blanket because we unexpectedly had an additional person staying with us. We paid the required extra fee, but we were repeatedly told that they had run out of blankets. How can a hotel run out of blankets? I honestly felt that we were not treated well by some of the Filipino staff working there. It was disappointing, especially because you would expect fellow Filipinos to be more welcoming and accommodating. We definitely will not be coming back. This Holiday Inn branch in Edmonton has very poor service, and our experience was extremely disappointing.
