"While this was a convenient location to the highway, I would not stay here again. I felt it was very overpriced for how dumpy it was. I did not go through the extra effort of requesting a coffee maker for my room, thinking I would just go down to the breakfast room in the morning and get coffee. There was an empty carafe and no one on staff to remedy the situation. I found the room to be very hot and smelled strange. When I got the air working, the air conditioning unit had a terrible high-pitched whine that went on all night because the room was too hot to ever turn the unit off. There are interior and exterior windows. The interior windows lead to a well-lit hallway, but the blackout curtains do not do enough to keep the artificial light out during the night. The room was very bright. The walls were extremely thin, to the point where I could hear them running the bathroom water in the room next to me, all the way across the other side of the room. And gosh, all of the road noise. While I understand that hotels are not soundproof, this was probably the loudest one I've ever stayed at. Staff wasn't unhelpful per se, but the attitude was really unpleasant. The staff member asked me for my ID and credit card and I happily obliged, but she's still complained about how many people resist the question when asked. I didn't resist at all, but she went on to talk about how stupid it is that people ask why they need to provide credit card and ID. She seemed very miserable."
"Myself my wife and my son spent two nights here. Everything was as is supposed to be. We enjoyed our stay. Friendly and competent staff, clean , quiet ... will come back in the future."
"a nice hotel and casino overlooking a beautiful lake in Cumberland, MD.
The original non-smoking room that we were assigned reeked of smoke and the staff quickly replaced it immediately.
The room was no frills, though we did have a lovely view. Staff were helpful and friendly. Parking was plentiful. Loved having the casino attached to the hotel.
There was one extremely busy ATM in the lobby. Wait time was about 15 minutes during prime casino hours. Maybe there should be more than one?
Room was comfortable and quiet, though no frills."
"Convenient location close to shopping and restaurants but off the highway so pretty quiet. Plenty of easy parking. Clean, neat, decent breakfast for a fair price. Will stay there again next year on my way through the area."
"Check in was seamless. Everything was correct, room appeared clean and well maintained. When we returned from dinner and turned on the lights, very small little bugs appeared near the lights. We killed them and more appeared. I called the front desk, a young man came (Mitch) to check the problem. He identified them as sugar ants. He left to see what could be done. Returned to say we could move to another room very near the highway or to an upstairs room but there was no elevator. So at 10:30 pm we collected our belongings and moved to the 1st floor near the highway (room 157). Got very little sleep due to LOTS of road noise. We were scheduled for 2 nights so they gave us room 104 for the second night. When I went to pick up the keys I was told that 104 had already been rented so they gave us 137 instead. I checked the room for bugs and spent the night there. They said they were extending a 20% reduction in our bill. As far as I can tell, that has been done. I will know more when I get my credit card bill. Overall, I probably won't chose a Best Western room in the future. This was an unpleasant experience and one I will not knowingly allow to happen again."
"Was probably the nastiest room I’ve stayed in ever. Bathroom sink still had the previous user shave cream and hairs in it as it did drain from the prior tenant before me. Toilet Was leaking around the wax seal and it’s been leaking a long time. From what I could tell an animal stayed in the room prior to me as it smelled like a wet dog. Disgusting. Staff had the motivation of molasses and done nothing. You’ve been warned. "
