We really enjoyed our stay here! It was a unique experience and we’d definitely recommend it. The only downside was that there’s no A/C, so during the summer it can take a while for the tent to cool down at night. Because of that, I personally wouldn’t stay for more than two nights. Overall, though, we had a great stay and would come back.
If you have never tried camping, or just getting a bit too old for true tent camping, this gives you the feel with the amazing convenience of plumbing and hot water. The only bummer about this location is the long walk to the restaurant on the adjacent property. But that wasn’t enough to spoil our stay. A fun little adventure.
This place was great! Such a unique camping experience. Beautiful views, comfortable beds, they even stored my cooler items in their fridge so they wouldn’t go bad. I definitely want to come back! I loved it.
We had an amazing experience at Under the Canvas at West Yellowstone! The staff were super friendly and helpful! This location is amazing for stargazing- the stargazers tent was surprisingly great for seeing the night sky! We’ll be back:)
Staff was excellent. I slept through the night, which doesn't happen often. So bed was very comfortable. The vibe is spot on. I know they have a focus of keeping light pollution down, however other guest may not have the same mindset & kept lights on in tents late making it a little hard to see the night sky. But would highly recommend a stay here.
Really not much to complain about the service was great! Definitely a unique way to stay!
The drive way needs loads of gravel and a grade
Definitely a mine field if pot holes
The property and staff were great. The experience was very neat; however, stoves in the tents hold fire for an hour or two at the most so if you don’t add wood all night long, your tent is frigid. For the price, better lasting heat would have been nice.
Everything was perfect. Loved the rustic tent with modern amenities. Beautiful views and the food was top notch. High recommend.

Liked: Staff & service
Disliked: Amenities
I am sure that had the weather been better this location would have been very good. However it was not and Under Canvas was totally unable to provide anything that was capable of heating the tent in near freezing conditions. Even a member of staff tried valiantly to light the word burning stove for over 40 minutes without success. Due to the low temp in the tent my husband tried the communal wash/restrooms which he described as revolting. For a premium price there are other glamping experiences in the area which offer a luxury experience at half the price. I cannot recommend Under Canvas and will never be returning.
Under Canvas is amazing! This was our first experience glamping and the staff was so helpful in explaining everything. They were friendly and eager to help in any way - from taking us and our luggage from the parking area to our tent, to starting the fire in our stove one night, as well as switching out the propane tank late one night so we could have hot showers in the morning. I loved the s’mores out by the fire pits in the evening and the mountain view from our tent was incredible! I’d give 10 stars if I could!
I LOVED this experience! We were only there for the night (and a brisk one at that). We were introduced to our camp site by Fiona and she was lovely. Our campsite was so cool. Just like the pictures! We had dinner at the on-site restaurant which was delish. We didn't realize that we had to maintain the camp stove all night, but again, it was worth all the experience! We also booked a king size bed with bathroom facilities in our tent. The views were amazing. The camp had games, things to do, snacks, hot cocoa (tea & coffee) as well. We made smores as well! I wish we would have stayed there for more than one night. BUT overall such an amazing experience for us Northeasterner's!
TLDR: Beautiful stay, terrible nights
My wife and I loved our stay. From beginning to end the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, which was much appreciated. They also have coffee and hot chocolate that you can take at your leisure, which is awesome.
Now come the cons of the trip. Firstly, the shower. I never thought that having to pull a lever for water would be such an inconvenience when you shower solo, but that was one. It also doesn’t help that you have to take breaks in between the bursts of water or you may in fact start accidentally boil yourself.
Second, the heating situation. Let me tell you, you’d better be a master at keeping that fire under control, because my wife and I woke up like popsicles and were even joking that we slept in an igloo. Wasn’t pleasurable waking up shivering and with a headache, so my recommendation would be to bundle up before you go to bed just in case.
Overall, the experience was great. I’d like to shoutout Joe for his wonderful service.
Thank you for an amazing stay.
3/5 - Great except for freezing up
This is nothing more than a basic cabin. There are no amenities whatsoever, which was a major letdown. I'm extremely disappointed with my stay at Under Canvas West Yellowstone.
Stay here was great! It was a little cold at night but they had plenty of blankets and hot water bottles you could take to help keep the bed warm. Shower takes a little practice to get used to
Top ervaring. Ondanks de kou en dat ze net waren opgestart hebben ze er alles aan gedaan om het de gasten naar het zin te maken.
Mooie ervaring. Goede locatie. Vriendelijk en erg behulpzaam personeel.
