DoubleTree by Hilton Sacramento

DoubleTree by Hilton Sacramento

8/10 Good
"Hotel is very big and spread out. If you need something from the lobby/front desk it’s a hike. Construction in the parking lot made things interesting too. The main entrance was not usable. I was excited because I saw the fitness center had a Pelaton bike. But, it wasn’t working right. They had a maintenance man look at it but he didn’t get it fixed."

"Liked the hotel; however, there is no fan in bathroom and with door closed it is steamy and the mirror is coated with steam. Also, the coffee pot would not work. Had to go downstairs for coffee. They were hospitable downstairs and gave me coffee which was nice!"

Vagabond Inn Executive Sacramento Old Town

"The property was nicely maintained. The location was excellent especially if you are travelling by train; the hotel is directly across the street from the Amtrak station. My problem was as follows: I had reserved a standard room. When I arrived the elevator was broken. I am mobility impaired and with a broken elevator I required a first floor room. The only available room had a king sized bed and cost $38 more. I had no choice so had to accept it. I sent an email to management objecting to the upcharge, I felt they should have upgraded me without additional charge. But after five days I have not heard a thing from them. My advice is as follows: I recommend the hotel, but if you encounter any problem whatsoever, don't expect management to resolve it."

"We have made this hotel our regular sacramento spot. We have been here a few nights every couple weeks and will be back again later this week. On last stay we received an unexpected upgrade of a large 2 person jaquzzi tub in room. Night time security keeps the property safe. The security guys are very friendly. The grounds are well maintained. A full breakfast is always appreciated. A bar and restaurant when we want to eat in. I discovered this hotel on a work trip and in total have spent 4 months here over the years. Only critique some front desk staff could improve their customer service skills. Smile maybe and appear welcoming. Security is more friendly than the front desk staff in my experience. But it was front desk that upgraded me so I'm not trying to complain! Ill take grumpy guss in exchange for an upgrade any day."
