The property was very nice, felt like living in the era of Goethe! The park in front of it was amazing and being so close to the old town was a huge plus. Parking is just in front of the hotel. There was a Syrian guy at the reception who was incredibly friendly and professional!

Excellent service

The front desk staff was great and showed patience with us as we toured Weimar. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delightful. No coffee service unless you get the full breakfast. Pricey but convenient. Hotel does having garage parking for daily fee but is convenient.

Very nice and quiet location close to sights and parks. Very nice breakfast. We spent three days in Weimar to se the Goethe Wohnhaus, Bauhaus Museum etc. We did not use bar or restaurant- instead, we tried restaurants nearby - traditional German restaurant, modern hipster-style Vietnamese burger restaurant, modern European restaurant...so much to choose from in Weimar...

Das Dorint Hotel Weimar ist ein schönes, großes Haus, direkt am Goethepark gelegen – allerdings mit ein paar Schwächen. Das Personal ist zahlreich, gut ausgebildet und sehr zuvorkommend. Das hauseigene Restaurant ist ausgezeichnet: gute Weinkarte, wenige, aber hochwertige und fantasievolle Gerichte, gemütliches Sitzen und toller Service. Das Hotel liegt nur wenige Schritte vom historischen Zentrum entfernt – also von Goethehaus, Schillerhaus, Nationaltheater, Liszt-Museum etc. Allerdings führt rund um die drei Hotelgebäude eine stark befahrene Ausfallstraße, die man nur mit geschlossenen Fenstern erträgt. Das Frühstück ist für ein Hotel dieser Klasse nicht angemessen: Es gibt keinen Lachs, keine Omelett-Station, überhaupt ist die Auswahl eher mager und mittelmäßig – mit anderen Fünfsterne-Häusern (etwa dem Herrenhof in Wien oder dem Hilton in München) nicht zu vergleichen. Leider beherbergt das Hotel auch regelmäßig sehr große Schülergruppen, die hier meiner Meinung nach nichts zu suchen haben, weil sie Lärm, Unruhe und Aufregung in ein Ambiente bringen, das eigentlich leise, gepflegt und elegant sein sollte. Beautiful hotel with excellent staff and restaurant, perfect location by the park — but noisy road, mediocre breakfast, and large school groups spoil the elegance.
