The room is clean. The reception is nice and helpful, provided the very details information of the facility. There are private beach, swimming pool and sauna, good for the whole family vacation. The have peddler board for free to play in the lake too. The breakfast is sumptuous. The view of the restaurant is very beautiful, faced to the peaceful lake and the mountains.
Great hotel for one or two nights. The rooms are modern spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The swimming pool needs updating however the sundeck and sunbeds were perfect. There are very few restaurants within walking distance but it’s only 15 minutes on the train into luzern.
Third stay here and still just as satisfied with the hotel, the staff, the food, and the kindness of the owners. Only one downside however: Hotels.com should have warned me that major construction work would be underway during this period. There is a crane installed directly in front of the lake, so I wouldn't have paid for a lake-view room.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
It was not made clear when booking that there is considerable construction work taking place at the front of the hotel. Whilst this had been paused for the summer, it was still an eyesore and meant that we couldn't enjoy the grounds that we thought would be there. It looked very different to the pictures advertised.
The room was very small and did not have air conditioning, which is surprising for a 4 star hotel. There were also various small maintenance issues.
This aside, the hotel overall was lovely and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was fantastic. The wellness suite was nice and the hotel has a quiet private area by the lake.
Location is good. Town is beautiful however the hotel does not deserve to be ranked as a 4 star hotel due to how dirty rooms were. We had three rooms. 2 rooms had spider webs and other insects . One room smelled like a rotten cheese that the staff was aware of and changed to another room.
I cannot believe that the regional health department allows this hotel to operate this way !
Beautiful space, location is amazing, staff were super friendly and helpful, but I thought it was a non-smoking property and it’s not. All open air locations allow smoking, including balconies, the amazing outdoor patio, outdoor poolside locations, outdoor space on the lake, etc. I am allergic to tobacco smoke so unfortunately I found myself avoiding these spaces and would get nervous that someone would light up when I was interacting with these spaces.
The food onsite was amazing, the spa and spa services were top notch, canoes and SUPs were free and available first come first served, and they offered an AMAZING complimentary breakfast each morning that was EPIC . There was free and unlimited tea and coffee 24 hours, a fizzy and still water faucet in the spa, and fresh apples provided right from the local apple trees!
Even with all of this, the dominance of cigarette smoke onsite would make me think twice about staying here again. It would be great if they could have designated smoking areas rather than it being a smokers paradise. And as a designated wellness hotel I found it contradictory to allow smoking in every outdoor space. I do not want to smell smoke when I’m eating breakfast, need fresh air in the room b/c there are no A/C’s, or decide to go swimming after a relaxing spa service.
And FYI, they’re doing renovations in front of the hotel, and it impacts the view overlooking the lake. Expedia does not inform you of this but the hotel website does.
The staff was extraordinary in every way possible. The views were breathtaking.
The only thing this place was missing was Air conditioning .

The hotel itself is an older hotel with a beautiful location on lake Lucerne. The staff was fabulous. The check in desk assisted us with everything. The restaurant servers were exceptional. Especially in making sure my husband had the best single malt whisky. The food was some of the best of our entire trip. We would definitely stay there again. We really enjoyed the piano player
Spectacular view of the lake from the pool. Spa and pool were wonderful and not crowded, so it was very peaceful and relaxing and loved that there were waterbeds available to rest on. The meals were delicious, too. Friendly and helpful staff.
