Unusal set up, but good for overnight stop. Not sure I would return or recommend. Owners did nice renovation job, with more attention to detail (i e. replace bath tub with shower, rewire to better accommodate appliance/ tv, higher quality mattress, place to hang coats) could be a gem.

Nice comfortable king bed, only good thing about this place. I was ashamed to bring my wife here! first night of a cross country drive, boy! Only ever been in one place worse.

My friend and I (2 young women) stayed here during the Badlands off-season in winter and LOVED the place! Pretty sure we were the only guests, but we felt really safe and welcome. The owner texted us confirmation/check-in instructions ahead of time, saying who would be on staff when we arrived. The woman at the check-in was really warm and gave us a number to call if we needed anything (we didn’t!). The inside of the rooms were also super cute: wood paneling and a real landscape painting (not a print), plus several free snacks (popcorn, fruit snacks, granola bars and more), coffee maker coffee, mini fridge and microwave, and comfy beds. Will def stay here again next time we’re in the area.

This is really a gem of a motel!! Stacey is so nice and very helpful- pointed us to a wonderful local bar and grill for dinner! Pet friendly. 15 minutes from Badlands NP and Wall. Very quiet.

Small town, small community, & very friendly locals! I was a solo woman traveling through & stayed overnight at the Motel. Staff was welcoming (I checked in kinda late @ 8:30ish) & very friendly! Wasta Bar across the street provided me great conversation w/locals, hot food, & cold drinks! Not everyone’s “scene” but certainly mine! I felt safe, welcomed, and loved staying in Wasta vs a larger city! 10/10 would stay again!

Staying at the Redwood was such a nice experience! EASY check in, cute, comfortable place! They even left snacks in our room!! And Having Davy Crockett on the lookout while we slept was an added bonus!!

Nice little motel
Nice little motel right off the interstate. Room was very quiet and comfortable. Very clean. Even had some little snacks in the room to munch on. Was able to park right in front of the room making it easy access in and out for luggage and what nots. Would stay here again.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Redwood! Close to the Badlands. Owners and staff very friendly and made us feel at home. The deer eating in the area were an added bonus in the morning. Would stay here again when in the area.

I absolutely loved the fact that I could self check-in with zero problems, pull right up to the door, unload, shower, and sleep. Thats all I wanted to do after a days drive, and it was perfect!

Clean, kind management, new with quirk
Jane was wonderful to deal with, made accommodations for us even though I made the mistake of booking a ‘pet friendly’ room by mistake, she actually sent us to a sister hotel, the Wagon Wheel, to make sure we had a non-pet room. Above and beyond, thank you Jane. The only complaint, at the Wagon Wheel, and it is important, the rooms are not sound proof. You can hear conversations and movements and walking and tv and everything…there must be a construction error or something because it’s not that people were louder than usual, it is just not sound proof. Hopefully with the new build they can address this problem.

Hotel is old and dated, but price was the best we could find in the area over Labor Day weekend. Manager helpful and friendly and room was clean and had the basic amenities. Just what we needed for an in an out stay on the road.

This was a fun little vintage motel. Very clean and the staff was friendly! Only thing that was a little strange was the connecting door to another unit (on site managers unit) was only able to be secured from the other room ( meaning we couldn’t access that room but technicality they could access our room). This wasn’t an issue for us but I can see how it might bother others.

Great little space in Wasta
The owner called and confirmed I had what I needed before hand. Check in was easy, LOVED the hard wood/linoleum floor, and the beds were super comfortable.

We enjoy rustic surroundings, so this was the perfect place for us. Along with the friendliness of the staff, one is able to park literally right outside the door. We plan to stop here again on our return trip. Thank you.

The Redwood motel's close proximity to Wall and The Badland loop make it a great alternative to staying in Wall, which can get pricey. I liked the snack basket in the room, and the fly swatter came in handy (I know from experience that the area has a lot of flies!); and we got a good nights rest in a clean room for a fair price. Can't ask for much more than that!

Great stop along the way. This town needs one word to describe it. "Cowboy". I went to the Wasta Bar for a burger and it was great! Very friendly town. Everyone there seemed to be on their way or just got back from the rodeo!❤️🐎

Quiet small basic motel
Small, cute, basic motel 11 miles from Wall SD. If you want quiet and to be away from the tourist crowds, this is the perfect place. Local bar and grille for food otherwise grab a bite in Wall.I was looking for affordable and quiet, and I def. found it here. The owners are friendly and attentive. If I'm ever this way again, I will be a returning customer.

Upon arrival, I was skeptical of the facility. However, it became quickly apparent how wonderfully run this motel was. The owners of this Ma and Pa operation clearly take pride in their investment. They are currently remodeling, but our room was tastefully done. There was a basket filled with snacks bedside. Visiting here has really put into perspective the importance of supporting family run hotels!
