I was directed to this property as a hub for experiencing what Washington DC and Northern Virginia have to offer because of it's centrality and proximity to public transportation. It was excellent logistically but lacked in other comforts. If you're traveling aline, freat. With a spouse, so-so. With a family, definitely not as there is ZERO privacy for whatever gets done in restrooms if you get the picture. Staff was friendly and gelpful. Exercise toom small but modern eith everything necessary. Step outside the front door and WHAMMO, city life at it's finest and it's worst. Sirens 24/7 and there was a riot of teenagers just down the street. All in all, it met our purposes.

Check in was great, by two very friendly and helpful women. Room was clean and comfortable. Area around the hotel had lots of stuff to do, and had good bars and restaurants.

Hotel is fine, great bar and restaurant. It’s clean and overall good. It gets a 3/5 in my book unfortunately for two reasons: (1) the rooms are quite small. They can barely fit 2 people and their luggage. I am not sure if this is typical of DC hotels, but the room was extremely small. (2) The area around the hotel is sketchy. I feel bad knocking the hotel down a star for this because it’s outside their control, but be warned the area (Chinatown) gets extremely sketchy with cops around all night and day. The area is NOT family friendly - we saw the aftermath of a stabbing, a woman running around naked, a fist fight, and people buying/selling drugs in the 4 days we were there. If I were to visit DC again, I’d stay closer to Georgetown, the River, or in Arlington. Chinatown did not feel like a safe neighborhood. Unless you’re coming to DC for a Capitals/Wizards game, I would personally avoid Chinatown. (FYI - Hotel is right next to arena so if you’re going to a game for a night I would choose this hotel)

The lack of a refrigerator sucks, but you can work out that by pulling up the AC filter abit and placing your dribks on top of the vents. So the AC cools the drinks

The hotel staff and property condition was excellent. However, the lack of amenities proved to be so expensive that I doubt I will stay here again. Parking for 2 nights in the recommended lot cost me a ridiculous $81. I could not get in the lot because the police had all the streets blocked off when I arrived. I had to park two blocks away and then go back out and put my car in the lot. Coffee in the morning was $5 a cup in their restaurant, with breakfast being $16 for an omelet. The coffee shop next door opens at 11 am. The hotel does offer free coffee service from 5 - 6:30 AM. (!!) Also, the street is so noisy that the hotel provides ear plugs in the room. I was awoken at 3AM by some screaming group of women out on the street. Cops everywhere both nights, which I suppose is a good thing given the denizens all over the street. A+ to the staff for positive attitude, friendliness, and condition of the place. D for location and amenities.

If you need a place to stay in DC and want to be within good distance of everything, this is the place to stay. Friendly staff, cafe, roof top bar, plus a gym in the basement. Being a mirco hotel doesn't change anything due to the fact you'll most likely be sight seeing anyways. Also there is endless options for amazing food literally on the same block. Walgreens just a few doors down for extra necessities. Just a block away from Capital One Arena for your games or concerts. 10 out of 10 highly recommend, because I'll definitely be staying here again for my next trip to DC
