Barb’s Place is a must stay on the South Island. The home is so warm and inviting. Barb and Jeff are the greatest people,, We were so blessed to spend our New Year’s Eve and my birthday with such wonderful people, Delicious food too😊

Barb & Geoff made us feel like family. After we booked, Barb offered to provide a home cooked meal including wine. Barb has experience cooking all over the world, and the meal and wine reflected this. Our room was large with a large attached bathroom. Lovely yard and gardens surround the house.

Charming B&B in restored heritage villaIt wa

It was pouring with rain when we arrived but the warmth of the welcome more than compensated for the weather. Our room was nice and warm too. We joined the host and a friendfor coffee and then brought the our dinner out to eat with them. Interesting and friendly hosts, excellent coffee and breakfast. We were sorry not to be staying longer.

Comfortable stay at Barb's Place

We stayed 3 nights at Barb's Place in Waipara Valley and enjoyed our stay. Barb and Jeff were very friendly, relaxed hosts with lots of local knowledge. They were helpful with suggestions for things to do and places to visit. Bedroom was quiet and king bed was very comfortable. Nice outdoor area for reading and relaxing. Within walking distance of the North Canterbury Food and Wine Festival, which was an excellent event. No "town" to walk to for restaurants, shops, etc but everything is a short drive.

Friendly clean and comfortable.

Very comfortable visit with Barb and Jeff. Enjoyed a bottle of wine in their beautiful garden. Also enjoyed their three dogs. Had a delicious lamb dinner with them. Good conversation and learn about an optional scenic drive and visit to Oamaru . Good advice. Made our trip even better. Nice people. Thanks.

Amazing Waipara experience!

Barb and Geoff were fantastic hosts as we felt at home in their B&B. Eggs from their chickens, honey from their bees, & homemade bread were delights of the hearty breakfast. We dined with Barb & Geoff and they served up local fare and wine that was as delightful as their company. They were knowledgeable and well connected in the area so we felt like we got the local scoop on wines. A highlight of our New Zealand vacation!
