"We stayed in Room 506 from Thursday, 9/24/26, with our three children, my husband, and his service dog. Overall, we would rate our stay 8/10. We enjoyed many aspects of the property and would consider returning in 2027, but there were several areas where better communication and attention to detail would have made our stay much more enjoyable.
One of our first concerns was the smell of cigarette smoke in the bedroom closest to the kitchen, where the queen bed was located. We have allergies, so this was particularly uncomfortable and something we feel should be addressed.
We were also specifically told that the pool would be open until 9:00 PM, so we went down to swim around 8:00 PM on Thursday. When we arrived, we were informed that the pool was closed because a heating element had been installed the previous day, 9/23/26. This was disappointing because we had been given different information. Unfortunately, the pool remained closed on Friday as well, meaning we were unable to use it during our stay.
We had also been told that mini golf required an additional fee. Since the pool was unavailable, the lady working on Friday kindly allowed us to play mini golf for free, which we really appreciated. Given the circumstances, that was a thoughtful gesture. In general, however, we feel that parking and mini golf would be better included in the stay rather than charged separately."
"This hotel never fails to take my breath away. Opatija is already such a beautiful destination and the Kvarner is a gem in the heart of the city. Top notch amenities with direct access to the sea, a stellar breakfast menu with a gorgeous view on the terrace, and clean rooms with all the extras you could ever need. The front desk even takes care of parking to eliminate the stress of finding a spot. This is the place to be if you want 5 star treatment, can’t recommend it enough!"

The view was amazing and we even got treated to a late night firework display literally outside our balcony.
