Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu

"The buffet breakfast was very good with lots of options. The room was clean. We mostly turned the AC off because the room was cool without it. The pools were great but the sea was even better. Nice beaches and lots of fish. Really enjoyed the snorkelling. Cocktails and food were reasonable for a hotel. Pretty close to the Lapu Lapu monument (which was nice at night) and to mactan new town with Starbucks, McDs and others. Grab is good and useful if you need food or transport."

"Everybody nice and helpful. The room well aicondition. Trustworthy staff my wife forgot her watch after leaving the room one lady in a hurry to give it back and as well as my daughter’s short pants. Designated smoking area available. The only thing I don’t like we need to give some card from them to get pool towels because keeping that card in your possession is quite stressful"

"Good Morning We would like to share our disappointment with our stay at this hotel Firstly we were given a room with 2double beds and no balcony for our 7 night stay. After speaking with the Manager and waiting around and much stress, we were given an upgraded room. Then to find out 2 swimming pools and some restaurants/vars were under renovation and not open, we were not notified of this , as we would have previously changed hotels To find out that you can only get out of the hotel on go to the private beach, up and downs stairs to wait for a shuttle bus (could be a 10minutr wait either way) once on the private beach, accessed only by stairs , nowhere to get lunch as all closed , charges for beach activities also Breakfast was shocking , must be the most budget one we have ever had and very overcrowded, or sharing tables We decided to check out 6 nights early, so as not to spoil our entire trip we were ending the Philippines, the hotel staff were apology, but unable to do anything further us You are stuck in this hotel with no option to wait for shuttle buses to front of hotel then get yourself a Tuk tuk out of there Would not recommend this hotel at all"

"All Staff were exceptional 5× The property is however can be 3-4☆ at best but is TRY-ing hard. Ground and rooms are vrry clean 5☆. The 50meter wide Beach 1☆ access needs daily maintenance. Food mediocre 3☆. Some fees are not necessary (lost towel fee 25$- really?) Complimentary game room not really 'free'. As said, big pat on back to hard working staff but some policies can be better. Look forward to future visit and hope to see further improvements. Thank you PB staff for your warm welcome and hospitality."

"The breakfast buffet was very nice. Eggs to order ( the house scrambled eggs were far too runny and undercooked). I found it wierd that when I asked for salt and pepper, both were given to me in small bowls. I am sure the resort can afford salt and pepper shakers. The in house restaurants had great food at VERY REASONABLE prices. The resort would be better off with a better TV channel selection. Just ONE American channel and the broadcast quality across all channels suffered heavy buffering. The hot water was fantastic, with great pressure. Very helpful staff. God willing, I will return next year with 7 family members in tow and rent a family villa. BTW, please stock up on Tito's vodka. It is not expensive and you can get it at S&R. Only serious complaint is that Jlounge bar serves seriously watered down drinks. My vodka and tonics were mostly tonic LOL"
