"For the location and the price it’s a great place to stay in VB . The hotel is on the older side but it looks fairly renovated. The overnight staff was very nice , quick , and helpful . The morning crew ? (one lady in particular) didn’t seem like she was interested in talking to me or assisting me. Was very helpful to the lady infront of me and talked for 10 minutes while I waited . As soon as it was my turn at the desk, not an ounce of eye contact or acknowledgment. Yes I’m black and she was white and lady before me was white . I really hate pulling the race card but I couldn’t help feeling some type of way about her being overly helpful and conversational with the white woman before me but not even saying hello or look at me when I approached the desk . Other than that I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again but I’ll probably only check in near midnight or only ask the overnight crew for assistance ."

"It was a good stay. I didn't use the amenities because most were crowded. I loved the atmosphere. I loved that it felt like a real house and had cooking gas. The air was moderate. Overall, it was a nice place."

"We had a really nice stay at the English Inn in Charlottesville! The hotel was comfortable and welcoming, and overall we really enjoyed our experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. The people working in the breakfast room were absolutely great—very friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They made us feel comfortable every morning and added such a nice personal touch to our stay. The friendly service was definitely appreciated! The only disappointment was the pool. I was really looking forward to enjoying it with my son, but unfortunately, we weren’t able to use it because the pool was very dirty and did not appear to be properly cleaned. That was disappointing, especially when traveling with a child and looking forward to using the hotel amenities. Aside from the pool issue, we had a great experience and enjoyed our stay. I would definitely consider staying here again. I just hope management gives the pool more attention and makes sure it is properly cleaned and maintained for guests, because that would have made our stay even better!"
