Extreme disappointment with our recent stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott Virginia Beach. Our experience from June 15-19 was deeply unsatisfactory, and I feel it's important to bring these issues to your attention.
Upon our arrival at 10 PM on June 15, we were met with a strong, unpleasant odor in our initial room. Rooms are not the same. Despite our exhaustion, we tried to overlook it, but soon discovered large flying insects in the room, which greatly distressed our children. We immediately contacted the front desk, who assured us help was on the way. After an hour passed with no one arriving, my husband, despite the damaged elevator, went down to the front desk. He was again assured that someone would be sent with bug spray. Another hour went by, past midnight, with no assistance. We then discovered more bugs in the sink and spiders crawling on the bathroom walls.
We requested a room change, but were initially told no other rooms were available. After much frustration, at 1 AM, we were finally offered a room on the 14th floor. We repacked all our belongings and moved, only to find the new room had a severely leaking shower head with no water pressure, a problem that persisted despite our multiple attempts to get it fixed. A plumber was eventually sent, but he was only able to address the water flow, not the leak.
For the entirety of our four-night stay, we endured the constant noise of the leaking shower. Additionally, the room curtains were broken. So many issues.
