Overall and excellent choice for an overnight stay

Super small boutique hotel in the centre of the village. The lady on reception was super efficient. The room was large for the family and had fans to keep us cool.

Rustic charm in beautiful village of Villandry

We had visited Villandry last year during our holiday in The Loire and decided to stay overnight on our way to The Dordogne this year. The Columbien is located in centre of village and a short walk to chateau and gardens (definitely worth a visit). Hotel is a bit like a 'rabbit warren'. Rooms are adequate but no air con only fans. We dined off the a la carte menu and food was very good. Staff attentive and very pleasant. Hotel also has a brasserie offering quicker bites. There is no parking on site but public car park opposite is free. Overall, a decent hotel, just needs a bit of an update.

the hotel staff were welcoming and the village was delightful to wander round in the evening. The dinner in the restaurant was as good as we hoped it would be . likewise the breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious and comfortable.

A true Auberge....

We upgraded ourselves to a family corner room, warm night but the fans did their job. Very nice restaurant, excellent service. We happened to be there when France won a match, so 5 cars passed by with cheerful sounding! Just fun.

We enjoyed our stay! Site was comfortable. Staff generally helpful, but was a little weird about some requests. For example, when asked for ice to chill a bottle of wine, we were given a dog bowl with some ice. That wasn't really appreciated
