Cabin in the woods
Fun cabin in the woods. Hot tub was great. We enjoyed the quiet and it was very close to New River Gorge National Park, which was the reason for our visit.

Lovely, comfy cabin
We had an awesome 3 night stay for our wedding anniversary. The cabin was super cute, comfortable, everything we needed. The only downside was that the mattress on the double bed is not super comfy. Otherwise it was basically perfect. The hot tub was 11/10 especially after hiking. Hosts were perfectly nice by text and emai, though we did not meet them in person. We'd stay here again if we came back to NRG

This property was exactly what we were looking for for our girl's weekend trip! It was perfect. The cabin size, the hot tub, taking walks, the snow, taking pictures. We did not move our vehicle from the time we pulled in until we left! It was a wonderful, quality time well spent together! Looking forward to the next time! P.S. The one thing we forgot was coffee and it was at our finger tips in no time! :)

The cabin was very clean and cozy. The screened in porch is amazing, with open views to make the cabin look bigger. Everything we needed to cook all our meals (pots, pans, utensils) were all there. From booking, to directions, checking in, it was all incredibly easy. We really enjoyed our time there. I highly recommend!

Great weekend getaway.

If not camping then this is a perfect Basecamp
Very clean, very easy to communicate with the host. Beautiful cabin, perfect for any small group for anything in the NRG. 7mins from the two biggest outfitters for rafting, zip lines, climbing etc. Right by the NRG bridge. Hot tub is clean and works well, very nice to come home to after long days paddling etc.
Screened in porch hot tub. Looking into cabin.

The cabin was perfect not far off the grid but perfectly placed in the woods area. Close to attractions and hiking adventures. Cabin was well maintained did not have an old cabin smell or vibe. Hot tub on the screened porch added to the charm. Nice to soak after a long day of hiking! Our stay was perfect😀

Everything was ok until we got in the Hot tub that wasn’t hot not a good combination especially when that is a big part of why you went in the first place. I contacted to office in a manner they requested(text) Witt no response what so ever. After that found out that the beds were like a rock and caused our body to ache and couldn’t get in the hot tub to relax it. Sad

Thank you for the feedback. We do leave a phone number on our welcome note that you can call or text (your choice) with questions/concerns. The only text received was the day of your departure at 2:36 p.m. which unfortunately was to late to discuss any issues. We leave the hot tub set on 100 degrees as recommended and you can lower or raise the temperature using the control panel to your liking. There was no issues found with the hot tub which was checked after your text on the day of your departure. We would of liked the opportunity to talk with you and would have resolved any issues that you may have had prior to the day of checking out.

Don't miss Opossum Creek when in Fayetteville, WV!
We absolutely loved our stay at Opossum Creek Retreat. The cabin was cozy and comfy, the screened-in porch was perfect for a morning cup of coffee, and there were even warm freshly baked cookies waiting for us when we arrived! The staff was helpful and communicative and the cabins are only a short drive from New River Gorge National River. We will absolutely stay again if we are in the Fayetteville area!

Second time back and I would come again
This is my second time coming back and I was in a different cabin this time. The access to a hot tub the enclosed mosquito free deck the beauty of the views into the forest it's just hard to be. It's off the beaten path in a little bit hard to find but once you do it once you're okay. I really honestly only have one minor complaint and that is they really need to add more Outlets to The Cabins because in this day and age everybody brings phones and tablets and there was literally very few places to plug in when we were there. But other than that the place is beautiful the people are easy to work with I would continue to come back.

This is a phenomenal place for families.Cabin was clean and very pretty.Geoff was an incredible help/ Close to all activities in Fayetteville-Especially whitewater rafting-but NOTHING beats the incredible hot tub and beautiful porch.
