This was our first time visiting Venice, and we quickly learned that you cannot drive a car into the city. We arrived late at night and had to ask around before we were lucky enough to find a place to park. With no clear idea of what to do next, we called the hotel, and thankfully, they were very accommodating.
We took a private water taxi to reach the hotel. A tip for future visitors: travel with smaller bags. Navigating Venice with large suitcases is extremely difficult, especially over bridges and cobblestone paths. While the private taxi was convenient, it was quite expensive, other public boat transportation options are much more affordable.
Our hotel turned out to be a part of another nearby hotel, where we had to check in and collect the keys before walking to our room. The room itself was absolutely stunning, spacious, beautifully designed, and offering a lovely view of the canals. Be prepared to walk up some stairs, but it’s worth it for the charm and comfort.
The staff were incredibly kind and provided excellent service throughout our stay. Despite the initial challenges, we had a fantastic experience and would definitely return to this hotel again!
