Read instructions properly. No service at property. Online check-in. I was ignorant and didn’t read the description properly but assumed (stupidly) and when looking at images saw the “main lobby” image and thought there would be onsite staff. So while I gave a low rating with service and overall, I gave cleanliness and location 5 stars as my room would have been spotless as I didn’t stay there and the location was perfect.

It was a little bit of a strange experience, but a clean room and great view! Communication all happens on the day of arrival, which was a bit worrying for planning, but it all worked out great! Only downside is no AC

The stay was good, but we were unable to control the temperature in our room. When we arrived our room was at 27 degrees Celsius while outside was only 20. It was hard to fall asleep with the heat of the room, even with the window open.

I would not recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Venice. The staff was unresponsive, enough so that we needed to last minute find another hotel the night of. There is no front desk or staff on site, so there is never anybody to reach out to, especially if you are traveling on a weekend. I would give 0 stars if I could. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The property was in a great location close to all transportation. The suite was very spacious. Be prepared to climb a lot of stairs.

First, the star rating system above doesnt work. and ther was no staff there anyway. I was hard to find, even with the maps. Perhaps the map should point out that the geen door is tucked in a corner, not actually facng the street/canal. The suite was Ok, a little confusing with the 2 bathrooms. The living room was very sparsly decorated-- we saw int the living room/lobby for rooms 2, 3, 4, 5 & it was much nicer. Also, we couldnt get the safe to work. But good lacation for our needs & we foind some good restaurants too.

Entrance door lock was not working. Random people were coming inside and asking if room was available. No elevator or Lift. To carry luggage 3 floors on stairs was not easy. Rooms were good size and comfortable. Could improve if restroom or toilet and small pantry for tea and coffee are added to the common area.

This is the worst hotel I ever dealt with don’t not recommend to my worst enemy. They are rude. There’s nobody there to talk to is supposed to send me a code at 3 PM and the code in arrive until like 5:30 PM. They refused to work with me to not stay there.

I really liked the jr. Suite, 3 large windows facing the Canal, also spent 2 nights in a deluxe room which was fine just views not as nice, comfortable though.

Did not receive any sort of check in information or codes as promised. Google maps does not take you to the right place so information on getting there is vital. We were lost and there is no desk or number to call. The building has no signs whatsoever. Honestly extremely frustrating. I had even messaged two days prior saying we hadn’t received any codes or information and was told they would automatically come the day of. When we finally got there we still did not have the entrance code. Terrible customer service.

If you choose to use this ‘’Hotel’’, it’s important to understand that it is NOT a Hotel. It is not named the ‘’Grand Canal Suites’’, in fact, it’s not named at all. There is no signage anywhere near this ‘’Hotel’’. We found it ONLY by putting the address into our iPhone, which led us to an address next door, named ‘’Hotel Canal’’. The guest clerk pointed to the lone door of a shabby Apt with an electronic lock, and we gained access. The room was very hot, as the thermostat was locked at 27C, and was not adjustable. I emailed them requesting directions to operate the thermostat, and received no response, AT ALL, EVER !!! We slept with the windows open, and the sheer curtains closed and just put up with the noise. The sheer curtains were filled with trapped mosquitoes the following morning. Don’t bother trying to use the Safe, as it does not work. This is actually a blessing, as the safe is not bolted down, and can be carried away (the original unused fasteners and instructions were still in the safe). The location of the property is excellent. Everything else is seriously lacking, and I would give it a 6 rating, ONLY because of the location. The staff is non-existent, and contact you only when they collect the taxes, (instead of when you have a question or problem). BEWARE !!!

Not a hotel
This hotel is not a real hotel, there is no name or Google directions it is not even on the map. The” hotel” is a random door next to a restaurant that leads to a room. There is no service or person works there. It is not a hotel. Very very misleading and very disappointed .

This is an apartment and we were pleasantly surprised how nice it was. No staff on hand but didn’t need anything so it was great. Very spacious and close to so much. It was unbelievably quiet.

INCREDIBLE! Contact with host was exceptional-- with entry codes, cupboards to store luggage before check in and after check out (our train departure was 18:18) to explore all day, hands free. The views from our room and the common area were magazine worthy. I have amazing photos, but the website won't load them. Sorry!

Wonderful stay for budget travelers used to airbnb’s etc. There is no front desk or concierge but they give you codes to allow yourself in. We arrived early and were relieved there was a luggage locker we could leave our bags in so that we could enjoy Venice until check in. We had the corner suite and the views were breath-taking. Three windows facing the Grand Canal. Also perfect location if you are arriving by train or bus. Less than 5 minute walk from either.

The location is good. Close to train station and easy to get places. The room was very hot (26C) but there was no A/C to cool it down. The bathroom window was already open when I arrived and the room was full of mosquitoes. My spouse and I woke up covered with mosquito bites. The bed was very firm and not comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom did not have a bidet, just a toilet.

Loved our time in Venice
Amazing location on the grand canal with a front row view! Across from the train station we expected more noise but since the apartment had a front room the bedroom was cosy and quiet. Easy to get to the water bus and to walk anywhere.

Great location, easy to get in and out. Either a/c didn’t work or couldn’t figure out how to work it. Either not an issue due to the temp was to hot but maybe staff should check it or put instructions on how to use, wifi was really slow. Overall nice place n location
