W Goa is an excellent hotel and our stay was extremely comfortable. But we did run into an extremely irritating situation with the hotel administration even before we arrived. [More on this below.] The hotel is beautifully designed and the service is excellent. We LOVED Spice Traders! Their food is just superb and the hospitality extended by their staff is simply world class! We recommend it very highly. The problem we did run into, however, was this: We were visiting several cities within India in two weeks and we accidentally got our travel dates to Goa mixed up. Consequently, we ended up making a mistake with booking our flights. As soon as we booked our flights, we realized that we were now arriving a day after our original reservation started and we were now scheduled to leave a day after our original reservation ended. We tried to contact the third party booking site (hotels.com) as well as W - asking them to simply move our reservation dates-block by one day. But W Goa refused to do it. As a result, we ended up paying for the first night (even though we didn't stay there) and re-booking the hotel for our last night in Goa. If they had been more flexible, we would consider returning to W Goa the next time we are there. (I love Goa. This was my third time visiting.) But, we are not sure want to. The hotel is great. But the hotel administration's inflexibility about this clear accident on our part cannot exactly be characterized as hospitality - in any reasonable sense.
