Beware the stairs!

It was a half hour walk from the train station, which we used to familiarize ourselves with the area. Could have very easily taken a bus, as there is a stop close to the hotel. Our room was on the 2nd level, but due to the set up of the hallways and rooms, we got lost trying to find ours, despite the desk clerk’s instructions. The stairs were very treacherous- narrow steps and spiral-like at the top and bottom, so would not recommend if you have mobility issues or heavy luggage. The bed was two singles put together, which is somewhat normal, but if you like snuggling your partner, it simply won’t work as you’ll slowly fall through the middle. It was not how I wanted to spend the last night of our vacation :( No frills at all (as stated in the ad)- the room only supplied liquid soap for showing and hand washing. The room key was very clunky to carry around The room isn’t insulated very well and took a long time to warm up with the radiator. Tiny closet size bathroom.

Kamers waren goed en schoon. Douche kon beter hier was vaste douchekopje bevestigd en een douchegordijn wat naar je toetrekt wanneer je staat te douchen. Hotel is slecht toegangkeluk voor mensen met een beperking m.b.t.knieen, heupen. Stijle trappen en geen lift. Ontbijt vanaf 7.30 uur mensen die vroeg moeten beginnen kunnen niet ontbijten en koffie kost een euro.

Nooit geweten dat ik mijn geboortestad de afgelopen week, zelfs nog er een verlenging aangeplakt. In Hotel Oorsprongpark doorgebracht hebt. Een prima hotel, centraal gelegen. Vriendelijke receptie en medewerkers. Uitstekend ontbijt. Een aanrader. Een perfekt hotel om Utrecht City te bezoeken. En dat in de stad "Utreg" waar ik geboren ben. Perfekto. J. Engels. Inmiddels woonachtig in Spanje. Maar gewoon aan het werk.

Ligging is perfect. De vriendelijkheid van de incheck is perfect. Niet goed: de vele trappen voor een aantal kamers en het feit, dat het hotel in feite uit twee gebouwen bestaat. De kamers zijn redelijk basic voor € 65,- Euro excl. ontbijt.

A big NO

Beds too small. Blankets too small. Hardly can wrap yourself with them. Squicky wooden floors. Not much noise insulation. Pretty much hear everything from next door. Pathway not at all lit up. A big NO.

Staff very friendly but the rooms are incredibly small. I had to leave the bathroom door open just to use the sink. I booked through Expedia the rate was $72 USD when we arrived at the hotel said they had the confirmation but I had to pay their website price of 85 euro or $94 USD that's a complete bait and switch and pretty sure illegal - not sure if it's an Expedia issue or the hotel but it needs to be addressed and guests need to be aware. No amenities in the room, coffee available downstairs for 1 euro, which is fine but not for a hotel of this caliber. I'd expect to pay that but only in a hotel where my room was stocked with soap, shampoo, and water.

The hotel is near services and is in a quiet walkable area. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fully adequate. Our room was on the first floor, up a steep, narrow flight of stairs. No elevator.

Basic but pleasant. Good for the price!

The hotel is a basic but pleasant space. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only major complaint was the warmth of the room as it was a warm few days and the one window did not provide sufficient cooling in the early evening though it cooled off overnight. A fan would help. The staff were helpful and polite. I only used the bus once but it stops very close to the hotel and makes commuting to the city center and rail station quite simple. Would stay again.

Good location with transport a few minutes away. Easy walk into town centre. Quiet & safe area. Hotel is clean & typical of of those in the region ie no lift and plenty of stairs (beware -steep & winding if you have mobility issues). Breakfast was simple but adequate to start the day. The room was clean, bright & ventilated. Quite comfy for the few nights I stayed.

Fijn hotel

Leuk hotel, vriendelijk personeel. De trappen naar de etages waren, met een 23 kg koffer, wel een dingetje. Ze zij redelijk steil en smal, dus dat vereiste wel de nodige spierkracht. Nog een tip: voorzie de kamers van "Niet storen" of "Geen schoonmaak" bordjes om aan de deur te hangen. Maar verder oké!
