"Beautiful resort, lots of birds and a couple of minutes walk to beach. The rooms are soundproof. The staff very nice. I only ate at the restaurant one night (take out actually as they have no room service), food was plentiful and good but had to wait 50 minutes, maybe they were short staffed? As the restaurant was no where near full.
The science run aquarium is ok but very small and the octopus and sharks are in crammed spaces and should be released.
The resort is within a short drive to the shopping centre and the key not much further, if you love seafood the fish co-op is the place to go!
Another highlight is the jetty itself, go at dusk to see giant stingray, parrot fish, and even if lucky a sea turtle! You can see whales from the mutton bird lookout and hawks. The yacht club has great food with a beach view and it’s a good price.
Do not go to the dolphin conservation, it’s just a pool and cruel, why this place has not been shut down is beyond me.
Dorrigo NP is a must go but if you get carsick be wary the road is full of bents. Also bring salt for leeches. Lots of birds including bower and lyre birds plus others I’ve yet to put a name to.
The butterfly house is way over priced and you’ll see more butterflies wondering around but they do have a dozen or so peacocks and a white pheasant loose on the grounds.
