We booked into this property only because it was 'pet-friendly'. Initially I was very disappointed in the unkempt appearance and the fact we had to haul our gear up outside stairs. However the apartment was reasonably large and clean.

We we're very happy with our stay and would stay again. We got to the room late from the ferry and the lights on and doors unlocked for us. All the amenities that we needed were waiting for us. The room smelled very nice as well!

On arrival during office hours reception was closed . A paper was in window with message to go direct to the room. Wifi not working. Phoned reception. Was told there is never a problem with wifi, they would have a look but unlikely something could be done till next morning. Could try to walk to centre of motel. Got text half hour later that wifi was working. Spoke later to other guests who told me that wifi in back rooms was never working and that management was aware of that. Seems likely as it was loss of signal. Romm on itself ok, just as clean as you can expect in a dog friendly accommodation

It was ok the spa was not functional which was a key thing for me and it was advertised both on the site and on there sign outside there was a bit of emergency housing which is a bit of a turn off also. The wifi was crap but other then that it was ok

Property was dated but was extremely clean. Nothing too much trouble for the staff and they were friendly and inviting. A major plus was the swimming pool which was excellent.

The hotel is definitely overrated and it does not worth the price paid. Old interiors, and although indicated: THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING

Let's do the time warp again ...
My wife and I stayed one night. The room decor was like an 80's time warp. The sofa was very uncomfortable to sit on and looked like it had come from a garage sale. Two light bulbs did not work and heating was minimal. The toilet ran all night long, as did the leaky tap in the kitchenette. The lighting was very dim, which made the lounge dark. The unit slept 7, even though we booked for just 2. However, the room was clean.

Thank you for your comments on the cleanliness of the room. With reference to the decor we have are restricted under our lease as to what we can change or replace. Our landlord will not allow any changes to the rooms. We will have a look at the sofa, this is the first time this has been brought to my attention. Apologies for the light bulbs we do check them regularly but as you will agree they can blow at any time of the day or night. Best Wishes Caroline

Comfortable Motel
Room was clean on arrival and the smell of disinfectant was evident (which was good as this meant it had been cleaned properly). Bed was quite comfortable. No road noise. Manager was very accommodating with regard to our booking.

Did not like the faded red blinds in room did not match décor. Overall a pleasant experience. I was overcharged for room but when contacted office credited it to my account promptly.

Nice motel, handy to railway which suited us.
The only criticism I would have is that they need to put extractor fans in the bathroom as the tiles became dangerously slippery when the shower is used. Otherwise very clean tidy and roomy. A radio would be good too!!

Good mid priced motel.
Stayed for four days with my daughter. The spa bath room only had a double bed option, so not the best option for family stay, but fine for us. Wifi was patchy and but for our stay was a good mid range motel and would happily return

Quiet location
Quiet place and the motel has rooms where you can sleep comfortably and get rest if you are travel weary traveller or stressed from work or anything else -- two night stay is fine - any longer stay will require having acitivities in the area or close to the area. Located within bus stops and not too far from eatries and supermarket - a good place for families that want quiet time or solo travellers who want to get some good rest.

Very average. not clean mold around bath scum underneath non slip mat in bath never been removed and cleaned. Not vacuumed around edges an wardrobes. Would never go back .

Very comfortable, great service
The room was very spacious and comfortable with good kitchen facilities. The staff members were excellent and very pleasant. The hot breakfast option is definitely worth purchasing and having delivered to your room in the morning. The location is not near the downtown area, so driving is necessary for any activities. Would stay here again, no question.

Outstanding in Upper Hutt
Stayed in lots of motels in New Zealand this by far rates among the best. Very clean, well organised and well equipped unit. Early check in or check out at no extra charge the staff really do go the extra mile in customer satisfaction.

Comfortable Sleep
I enjoyed my stay at the Hawk's Inn. It was quite pleasant, and dealing with the staff was quick and easy. Fast check in. It was quite close to a lot of restaurants and fast food places, which was good as we were quite tired by the time we arrived and really just wanted to relax before a busy day the next day. The rooms were clean and we were fortunate to have a gas heater and a dehumidifier. The only disappointment was that in the "room description" it had mentioned the bathroom had a jetted spa bath, and I'd been looking forward to soaking in one after an extremely long drive, but when we arrived I was a bit upset that there was only a shower in the bathroom. Never mind, it was overall a very enjoyable stay. :-)
