「Overall the hotel was great. Location was is perfect for visiting grandfather mountain. Room was very nice. Conveniently located next to a grocery store. I encountered one issue concerning breakfast as I was erroneously charged for an “included” breakfast. Thankfully Expedia is reimbursing me for those charges. 「This is a very old property. The current owners are trying to update everything. I wish I could give it a higher rating because they're trying so hard. The rooms are very dated but the beds were comfortable. They are updating the rooms one at a time The location is great, less than half a mile from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hopefully they can revive this motel. There's a great restaurant down the road in Linville Falls called The Famous Rockhouse. I highly recommend them for breakfast.」

While the bed was comfortable, the small fridge was iced up and smelled of old food. There was no TV. There were nail heads sticking up out of the floor upstairs and the floor creaked loudly every time we got out of bed to walk to the bathroom. 「Room couldn't seem to cool down around time for bed even though I had it turned way down. However it was a super hot weekend. Finally around 2am I could tell we were making headway and we're able to finally go to sleep (soundly). Soap/shampoo dispenser in shower was completely empty, which I was sad because it smelled so good (the conditioner anyway) Otherwise the room was spacious, clean, and we were happy.」
