Nice hotel, highly recommend booking a room with private pool. For the size of the property having 2 pools to choose is a plus. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Such a beautiful property, conveniently located. We were close to many restaurants and only a 10 min drive from the strip. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. Would definitely stay at Copal again when in Tulum.

This properry is abaolutely stunning. Relaxing and very serene. What made it amazing though was the staff. Wven during a water pipe issue, they were accomadating and efficient. Interesting location as across the street is a lower incomw neighbourhood and behind the property is boutique hotels. Outside of the hotel, city streets and sidewalks were extremely dirty (not the responsibilty of the hotel at all). We would love to return. Biggest fault....food in the restaurant was very expensive. So we rented bikes and ate out frequently.

If you want to travel some place and never leave the hotel, this place is fine, I guess. But I personally hated it. First, for a "nice resort" the internet service was terrible. I have traveled all over Mexico and stayed in small, Mom and Pop places that have much faster, more reliable internet than this place. I expected working internet here. Second, there is construction in several of the rooms, so it is not peaceful at all. Maybe it will be someday, but not now. Third, the staff was not really very friendly or competent. They mostly use WhatsApp to communicate. If you are younger than a millennial, I guess that is okay, but there should be a way to talk to a human. Fourth, the pillows are hard a lumpy and cause terrible neck pain. Fifth, the place is trying too hard to be new-agey. And finally, the area around it is awful. The roads are terrible (we got a low tire in our car from driving the streets around the place, which were mostly dirt roads with large pot holes). BUT, if you want to go some place and do yoga all day, never have to talk to anyone, never leave the premises, and have no internet and leave with neck pain, it's fine-- go for it.

Overall, good stay for the money. The location is central to beach (about 10 mins drive) and the town area - you can walk there 15 mins walk. Lots of little cute cafes around the area that are walkable as well. Pool area is small and gym is tiny so if you are coming for that, then it’s not the right hotel probably but the rooms are beautiful and cozy.

The staff at the Copal Tulum Hotel was the best part of my experience, every single one of them was very helpful right from the beginning. Even before I got there they took care of my airport pick up. Right as I got to the hotel Anna was there with a smile and a calming good vibe, Max was always available to help and give recommendations, Johnny at the excursion desk was absolutely charming and my boys Diego and Manuel at the restaurant always took care of me. The ambience of the hotel was great, very clean and most importantly clam and relaxing as advertised, which is exactly what i wanted. I’d definitely stay here again the next time I am in Tulum.

Just want to start off by saying this place was great! Our room was always cold and comfy. The kitchen came with all of your basic necessities which was a plus. The customer service is amazing from the front desk to the bar and restaurant staff to the house keeping, very hospitable and made great recommendations. My stay included a massage but wasn’t able to do it since I had other things already planned. Will definitely be coming back!

stuff in the hotel is very nice but the hotel needs better maintenance. Our room smels from the mold badly and nothing helped, it got to a point that all our belongings, especially clothes smelled from mold we had to come home and wash everything twice! The water flow in the shower was super slow and we didn't have hot water. The sliding door wasn't locked so someone could come in easily. We told the front desk a few times about our problems but they didn't fix it. On the other hand, our friends stayed in a different room and they didn't have problems.

Staff were nice and helpful. Housekeeping did a good job but we had to keep asking for towels/wash cloths because they’d clean and then forget towels. While the kitchen was a huge draw to this place, very little is offered with that kitchen. For instance, if a coffee maker is provided, why not offer at least filters? Or a starter coffee bag? Also, a dish towel or paper towels? Or some salt and pepper? It is a bare minimum kitchen so if you decide to stay and hope to do some of your own cooking, be prepared to buy everything from salt and pepper, to a pack of a 100 coffee filters and paper towels. My family stayed 6 nights and enjoyed everything else that this place offered. Also bikes were said to be offered but upon arrival I found out they are not an accommodation provided without additional costs; which I found to be a little ridiculous. I was told prior to our visit via email that there were bikes there for my 7 year old as well and there were not.

Unpleasant Odors and Poor Cleanliness Rating: ⭐️ My recent five-night stay at this hotel was far from satisfactory. The bathroom smelled like sewage from day one, and only one out of five rooms was adequately clean. The water had an off-putting odor, and the shower drain was dysfunctional, making for an uncomfortable and unsanitary experience. Overall, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for accommodation.

first let me acknowledge how beautiful the rooms are, mainly the reason I booked at this hotel.. BUT we stayed here for 4 nights and the second night, the power went out and we were out of A/C, Water and electricity for hours before anything came on causing us to lose out on money due to not making our excursions for the day. When we asked to be compensated for the inconvenience, the staff blatantly said no and wanted us to wait until power was restored. Not only did the power go out, the area is NOT that great.. it’s nowhere near as nice as the resorts down by the beach. It’s right in the middle of natives and the area is pretty filthy! Stray dogs and cats running around and trash everywhere on the streets. Housekeeping also half cleans, they just come in and make the bed and clean around whatever mess you made. Not to mention that they take all of the dirty towels and not replace them so you’ll have to call front desk to get new ones. We also asked for more bottled waters for our room and she told us to drink the water that was in the lobby even though she had a pack of bottled waters on her cart. Overall, I would not book this hotel again if I visited.

Nice property
We really liked the property. Could have used more lounge chairs around the pool and the drinks at the restaurant were outrageously priced. Nice to have a kitchen even though we just made coffee and had a few snacks. The area around the hotel is a little sketchy. Not walkable in our opinion to bars and restaurants. Would be great if the unit pools were heated but I think most places in the area don't do that.

This is my fifth stay at the Copal. It’s cozy, close proximity to the town or beach. Staff is always pleasant. Will recommend stay

I stayed at Copal Tulum with a group of 8 and it was amazing! The hotel looks even prettier in person and felt like we were in the middle of the jungle (with no bugs). The rooms we stayed in were spacious and equipped with everything we needed to hang out and cook. The staff was amazing and helpful, especially Claudio who got us assistance when our car wouldn’t start. The staff was also super responsive before and during our stay, answering all our questions and providing recommendations around Tulum. My only cons were that the area immediately surrounding the hotel isn’t the best so it didn't feel very safe walking outside of the hotel property, especially at night. The rooms we stayed in also smelled a bit weird when we first got there but it’s easy to forget when you’re in such a beautiful space. Overall, Copal Tulum was the perfect place for our group and we would definitely stay again.

I LOVEDDDD IT HERE! I booked for my husbands 30th birthday they decorated the room, set up all transportation and reservations for restaurants we wanted it was a beautiful hotel I cannot wait to come back

Tranquil Hotel, staff goes above and beyond to make guests happy. The room was in excellent condition and cleaned on a daily basis. Delicious food options in the hotel's gastro pub.

This is a great hotel and central to the city so you can get where you're going fairly easily. There are not a lot of restaurants in walking distance, but with a mopehead or bicycle, you can get around easier. We did have a few roaches get into the hotel, but evidently from the outside elements and not an issue with cleanliness. The lobby staff was also exceptional at helping us with our private shuttle leaving us and reporting us as a no-show to the airport when we all were in the lobby waiting an hour. This was so unprofessional and we pre-paid, so her assistance in helping us communicate was pivotal. Thank you!
