"Gorgeous property, amazing family runs the place. Only downside is our room didn’t have air conditioning. Close to beautiful swimming beach, some restaurants and surf break. "

"The rooms were very clean, the staff was very helpful and spoke some English. Carlos at the concierge desk was amazing!! Very helpful with lining up taxi's for daily touring. and also with getting us ready for departing to the airport. Food was good, the special restaurants were very good. They really stepped it up this year with the desserts! Love that they have the ice cream machine. This is our 5th year staying there, amazing views, we will be back!!"
"The facilities of the hotel are poorly located with elevators serving all floors on the one side only and amenities on the opposite sides.
Restaurants served good food with exception of bread which were stale and dry at every sitting. The local wine prices are expensive more than $80 for a bottle of local Merlot.
English is a struggle throughout the facility.
Room conditions are not maintained to the expectation of the name. Our room air conditioner functioned poorly the entire stay.
The lobby bar had poor music choice, boring and repetitive. A single entertainer paid to perform in the evenings would have much better results.
We will not be returning. Distances to shopping and entertainment is non existent and taxis are the only means of transport. A hotel shuttle bus would be an much better option."
"We arrived to our room not being available due to them extending someone else's stay for a night. So, the trip did not begin well. We finally got our room at 5pm the next night. Adan in the beachside "snack" shack was the best and Cleo at the towel bar also! Both greeted us daily and made us feel welcome. We loved our beachside room, however the Emporio (hotel next door) had speakers blasting at our room until 12 or 1AM most nights. Food at the "snack" shack was the best. The two buffets were ok. We generally eat out most nights so the fact that the buffet was mediocre didn't matter much to us. We found it very hard to know what was going on or how things at the hotel worked. We had to seek out help often as no one really helped in that way. We have been to Ixtapa multiple times since 2005, and have tried multiple hotels over the years, if not for the loud music next door I think we would stay here again. We found staff to be kind all except the one beach waiter who would not give us the time of day EVER! He would literally come as far as our chairs and turn around. Was quite disappointing. "
Hotel Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort Spa and Convention Center
10/10 Excellent
"Our favorite resort to date and we are fairly seasoned travellers. Food was fantastic! Rooms are incredible. Staff are friendly and helpful though most don't speak great English. Tons of activities to do. Infinity pool was lovely. Use of restaurants and activities at neighboring pool was a great bonus! The only negative would be the lack of beach and fear of crocodiles in the water! But we would highly recommend this property to all and plan to be back!"
Hotel Azul Ixtapa All Inclusive Beach Resort Convention Center
8/10 Good
"We enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely room with two beds, a separate bathroom with tub and a huge balcony. The view from our room was unobstructed. We watched the sunset which was spectacular over Ixtapa Island.
The staff was professional and friendly and because the hotel was not full we were able to eat in the lovely Oyster Bar Restaurant several times. We had breakfast in Colores every morning. I am not impressed with the "dog friendly" aspect of the hotel. The nicest seats near the front with the view and air flow are reserved for people with dogs. These people are choosing food from the buffet without washing their hands first. We went our on the sailboat twice for a little tour out in front of the hotel and saw the beaches of Azul Grand and the old Club Med site. There was a Karaoke hour from 9-10 every night followed by disco and dancing which was fun. Overall we spent the week at the hotel by the pool, walking the beach and just relaxing. We would definitely return."
"La comida fue demasiado limitada en variedad y no es posible que hagan tan poquita comida, muchas veces era hora temprana para comer o desayunar y ya no había comida."
"Staff did not speak English but they were very friendly and helpful. We had no difficulties and enjoyed our stay. The setting is lovely -- right on the beach and across the street from two nice cafes, Quetzal and Cafe Corazon."
