"Absolutely shocking. Arrived at 7.20pm. Check in was between 5-8pm. No sign of anyone. Phoned both phone numbers and messaged via hotel.com - no answer from property. Waited there for an hour. We were extremely tired after leaving the UK at 7am!!! Had to find another hotel at ann extra cost. Eventually arrived around 9pm. Hotel owner phoned me at 10.38pm, waking us up, to ask where we were and apologise! What a joke. A formal complaint has been made to hotel.con who were extremely helpful...

"staying at Maison D’eclaibes was the most memorable stay of our two week trip to Europe. My favorite quiet environment in the countryside. The host listened to my limited English conversation. And for my wife love of boiled beans. And the next morning it came out for breakfast. Please continue staying at this inn forever. If possible, i would like to visit again someday. "We booked this hotel, last minute for a one night stop off on our way home after a few weeks travelling through Europe and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice. We booked a classic room (cheapest) and it was superb, the AC worked very well in the heat, the room was huge with a seating area, great bathroom and separate toilet. We didn’t use the spa but the pool was quiet and very welcoming after a long drive. The staff all deserve a mention as the service is second to none but the highlight was the evening meal in the restaurant, we had planned to eat on the bistro as we thought the food in the main Michelin guide restaurant would be a bit fancy for us (we love good food but aren’t reay foodies) but as this wasn’t an option due to the bistro being closed we gave it a go and we’re glad we did as it was fantastic. We ended up having a main course and dessert each but this was accompanied by an amous bouche (thinks that’s how you spell it!), a huge hunk of bread and a pallet cleanser between courses, the wine list is extensive and way over my head but we managed to find a lovely bottle of Puilly fuilles to suit our taste and budget!! I should also mention that the restaurant terrace is beautiful especially when the sun go s down and the lights are on. Anyway, to summarise - great hotel, fabulous staff and restaurant!!"
