「My cousin and I stayed at Ardboyne Hotel while attending a family member’s funeral. We arranged a late checkout with the morning receptionist, who confirmed that checkout was at 12pm and that a £10-per-hour charge would apply afterward. We planned to return by 4pm and agreed to pay at checkout. When we returned from the funeral, our room key had been deactivated and our belongings had been removed from the room and left on the floor behind reception, visible to other guests. 「Overall, it is a nice hotel but we had some challenges with the amenities. It offered A/C which was a rare treat, but it only worked in one of the two rooms. We were excited to see ice machines, but couldn’t find one that worked. The tvs only got 7 channels and we had to call the office to get the room next to us to quiet down after being repeatedly woken up. The food and and drink at the restaurant were good and the place was clean and people friendly, but we were disappointed.」
