"The property location could not be any better. In fact, my friend from Belgium (a big Disney fan) was in for the World Cup and she originally had been wanting to stay at the Disneyland Hotel but I had the worst experience there and paid far too much for terrible service and said I would pick the hotel. I had stayed at the sister property of "Camelot Inn & Suites" before but had heard about the Tropicana from a blogger.
When we were walking thru Downtown Disney one night and she remarked how far the Disneyland Hotel was from the gates of Disneyland and California Adventure and how much closer we were. The Tropicana is literally the closest hotel to the gates. Good for days when we averaged over 27,000 steps.
The room was clean and my friend (who is terrified of bed bugs) did her check and even she said she was impressed. Is the hotel brand new? No. Has it been remodeled? Yes. Is it clean? Yes. Water pressure is good and water was hot enough for me to ease my bones after all that walking.
The team at the guest service desk were friendly and welcoming. They also conveniently stored our luggage so we could drop it and get into Disney right away and then check out and store it again so that we could spend every last moment in the parks.
