The location was okay with views of the shoreline but no practical access to the beach and the surrounding facilities were also a bit basic

Although very clean and tidy the hotel is dated and definitely needs an upgrade especially with making the rooms more soundproof. During our stay the fire alarm kept going off during the night. We had to call reception to clarify if we needed to evacuate or not which we found poor as the majority of guests appeared to be quite elderly. There was no explanation or apology from staff the next day. This is a moderately expensive hotel and we expected better.

The room was lovely and clean, the bathroom was spotless. The bed was comfy and the room was really quiet. The internet access was awful in our room but improved in the main area of the hotel. We felt the food options were very limited. The roast carvery needed a better variety of vegetables in my opinion. Breakfast was tasty although basic. Parking in the area is very tricky. The hotel is situated in the perfect place for visiting the local area on foot. We would visit again but eat elsewhere for the evening meal.

The hotel is generally ok, I've just had 2 nights there and to be honest it was generally clean and tidy, the staff were excellent all round and the entertainment on the night time was reasonably, However the room, (and i had one with a balcony) was so small would would not want to spendca week in it, and the bed was awful. It was like sleeping on a rock. The hotel is what we would call tired and needs quite a bit of money spending on it to get it up to a first class hotel. Still i have a good time there.

Clean but very small room. Cheap, suitable for solo traveller. Hotel quite big largely catering for coach parties with big dining room and evening entertainment. Position close to weĺl maintained lawns at top of cliffs. Very safe, railings and benches. Magnificent views.

Can't thank the staff enough for going the extra mile and on multiple occasions at that - not least getting me sorted with another nights stay during the rail strike (they were at capacity). Everyone provided exceptional service and it was very much appreciated - even the night manager was happy to give advice of when to get the best photos over the bay. The hotel is in a perfect location overlooking the bay (definitely worth paying extra for a room with a view or better still a balcony). The hotel itself looks nice, bright and is spacious, offering plenty of facilities for guests to use. The rooms were recently decorated with modern ensuites and are well kitted out, including a fan which was great at cooling us down during the heatwave. Great value for money.

Great location

Hotel rather dated and looking a bit tired in places. Warm welcome on arrival and were given an early check in which was great. Parking is chargeable at £5 a night which I hadn’t realised on booking but you can park in roads around for free. I had booked a room with a sea view which was stunning and a balcony. Sadly couldn’t open the curtains in the morning to enjoy it whilst still in bed because anyone on their neighbouring balconies would have had full view of us. Bedroom very compact but clean and comfortable. Was a little surprised on first opening the door to the room to be confronted with a sink. Whilst there was an en-suite it was too small to get the sink in as well. Bit strange having to use the toilet and then come out to wash your hands . Whilst reception staff were lovely, sadly the same could not be said about the dining room staff. They have a very strange arrangement where you are allocated a table with your room number on it and have to sit there. I asked if we could have a table by the window and was told abruptly that it was not possible even though there were empty tables with no numbers on.Instead, despite the restaurant being 3/4 empty , we were made to sit on a table which was only about 6” apart from the neighbouring table . Luckily they were very friendly but we did have a conversation about ‘Fawlty Towers’ as this is how it came across. Breakfast was however very good. Won’t be returning to stay here though .
