Lovely hotel with a great view

Lovely Hotel with an amazing view over Livermead Cliff. Lovely spacious room with a balcony. Very clean and comfortable with lovely friendly staff. Very much worth a visit. We will definitely be staying again!!

A bizarre experience all around. Half of the staff made a good pass at it - the people in the bar and the housekeeping staff. But most of the others seemed unable to comprehend what it is to be in the hospitality industry. Many of those we encountered were surly or grumpy in the extreme. Day after day the breakfasts were pretty inedible. Food was cold, coffee was lukewarm at best. At prices like these it's a pretty poor show chaps . . . Needless to say, we won't be back.

Car parking. £10 per day if you book through hotel .com. Total £50.. This hotel runs a free car park if you book direct.??.charge for our dog was £15 per day..£75 total. We were offered room 12.which has the smallest bathroom i have ever seen and tried to use comfortably.??.window looked out to the roadworks coach park etc. with all the noise and pollution from the cars etc excellerating at the traffic 8lights . Staff were very helpful.

Amazing hotel and excellent sea views and location, staff and food/breakfast choice were first class. Bedrooms spacious and well laid out. Only one thing the hotel is lacking and that is the corridors leading up tonthe rooms need a refurbishment with fresh paint/carpet because as soon as you enter the corridor the smell is not very good with a musty sort of smells constantly present, as i said woukd only need a frech paint, but saying that best hotel for sea view and everything else was first class, will definitely stay again.

Great food & staff, rubbish beds

The staff at the hotel were excellent, as was the food. Beautiful views. Tables in the bar area were often dirty with drink rings/spills and crumbs, the beds VERY uncomfortable, mattresses were very worn (like sleeping on cardboard) and nothing at all left in the pillows. It’s an old building with dated fixings, but for a quick stop over whilst visiting family it did what it needed for us.

Nice hotel, lovely staff, tasty food awesome view.

Pleasent hotel, very popular with mature travellers. The room was basic, clean and comfortable. I was very greatful that our window could be opened as I always get too hot indoors. All staff members were polite and helpful. Nice breakfast with a fantastic view as we were sat in the lounge area for food as we had our dog with us. It was wonderful to be able to eat in the hotel in the evening, the food was very tasty and my partner really enjoyed his steak. We will book there again in future and it was wonderful that we could take our well behaved dog with us and she thoroughly enjoyed having lots of fusses for everyone she met.

I was disappointed to find that the gym and pool which is listed as provided was only at the sister hotel across a busy main road. There was also a lot of noisy construction. The Wi-Fi was terrible so had to use my personal hot spot-not great as I needed to work from my room. The staff however were really nice . The hotel is very dated

Customer service is off the scale excellent as Charles and Anthony have taught their staff well in going the extra mile to make the guest happy - very rare today and great to see and experience at the Livermead

Such a beautiful location but hotel itself is rather dated. Reception & bar service were both very slow. Our room, 56, is in need of a deep clean, as is the dining and bar area. Also, overnight we could lots of noise from reception area.

Room with a View

A little dated but service was exceptional. Easy parking. Great food both in the evening and breakfast. Clean room. Small shower and not a fan of having the sink in the bedroom not the bathroom. Small shower. I was overlooking the road and new hotel being built opposite. The restaurant and bar have amazing views over Torbay.
