Delightful Family Run Hotel
Despite our early arrival our room was ready and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The pool area was well maintained with beautifully clean pool in the centre. A few more colourful plants would have finished it off.
The dining room was clean and bright and the food efficiently served. The pork in particular on the night we stayed was delicious.

Pensioners Paradise
Room was not clean - numerous spiders/webs, dirty bath. Skirting boards thick wuth dust behind doors and in bathroom. Bed was old and mattress poor. Stayed during warm weather on second floor and the temperature was uncomfortable, even with both windows wide open all night. This also didn't help in the morning when awoken by the glass bins being emptied before 6am right under my window. Lots of noise from room below, but the hotel was full of pensioners and I think the couple in the room below must have been partially deaf, judging by the volume at which they felt it necessary to communicate at. Not the hotel's fault. Staff were all very helpful and polite.

Dog friendly and lovely location.
Great stay. Staff were friendly and food was great. Took the dog at only an extra £5 a night and he got thoroughly spoilt. Will visit again.

Nice hotel in quiet surroundings but close to town
Excellent parking facilities. Easy check-in, food and drinks billed to room for settlement at check-out. Spacious Room. Invigorating En-suite shower cubicle. Flat-screen TV. All you can eat buffet style english breakfast. Modestly priced bar. Friendly staff. I would return here every week if I could!! And last but not least, the room price was incredibly good value for money.

Marvellous mini break
A gem of a hotel behind the downs easily accessed by bus and a perfect base to sightsee other resorts along the Devon coast all staff were very friendly and helpful room extremely comfortable and clean and the breakfast was a lovely selection well presented and cooked the outdoor pool was a bonus really

Pleasant hotel in good area

Can't fault it for the price!
Very friendly, professional staff and management. Clean and comfortable room and an excellent buffet breakfast. Nice quiet location but only a short walk into town. For the price, I really cant understand what some of the poor reviews and complaints are all about. I'm not easily pleased but I'll certainly stay again next time I'm in the area. Thank you to all at The Anchorage for making my stay a pleasant one.
