The River Severn downstream of Haw Bridge in Springtime
The Haw Bridge over the river Severn This bridge was completed in September 1961 following an accident in December 1958 when a barge struck its predecessor causing it to collapse. Replacing a ferry the original bridge on this site was constructed in 1824 at the behest of the people of Cheltenham hoping trade with south Wales might by-pass Gloucester! In former times at periods of low water the Severn was fordable at this point and the crossing was known as "Haw Passage".

The whole experience was one of great things from the booking to arrival to the stay. Extremely comfortable with everything you would need and lots of good restaurants within walking distance. Parking is a bonus in Cheltenham.
