"This hotel has lots of positives – and a few negatives. On the positive side, it’s a very convenient location right on the ODU campus. The staff is, mostly, very sweet and helpful. They try to quickly honor requests for stuff like more toilet paper or a repair to a clogged sink. Housekeeping is every other day, which is fine. The first time, whoever did the room did a fabulous job: everything was tidy and sparkling. The next time it was disappointing: there were fresh towels but no restocked toilet paper or toiletries, surfaces weren’t wiped down, and the bed wasn’t even made! To me, the bed being made is standard for a chain hotel, so I was surprised. The inconsistency made me wonder about the quality of the training for the housekeeping staff. The oddest thing about this hotel is that the label “Suites” doesn’t really fit. Something like “Semi-Suites” would be more fitting. Unlike any other chain hotel I’ve ever stayed in with “Suites” in the name, the little kitchen area isn’t stocked at all. No tableware, cutlery, paper towels, sponge, dish soap. Instead, it basically has the stuff almost all chain hotel rooms have: a little fridge, a little microwave, and a little coffeemaker. Overall, I’d say if you’re not concerned about having a usable kitchen area, this is a pretty nice hotel to stay in. It’s clean, comfortable and has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. "

"This hotel was such a pleasant surprise! Our room was super comfortable and cozy (loved all the indirect lighting). The shower was incredible! Staff was friendly, and the breakfast offerings were generous and tasty. The location just off 64 in the Greenbrier area was great - plenty of food options and easy access to other parts of the Hampton Roads area."

"DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! CARPET AND BATHROOM OUTSIDE HANDLE HAD RED STAINS RESEMBLING BLOOD. TV IN HOTEL DID NOT HAVE A CLEAR SIGNAL SO THERE WAS NO WATCHING TV. TELEPHONE IN ROOM WAS DIRTY. BATHROOM HAD FLOATING SHELF AND NOT FULL SINK. BED SHEETS WERE STAINED. YOU CAN HEAR OTHER GUESTS' CONVERSATIONS THROUGH THE WALL AND NEXT DOOR GUESTS WERE MAKING LOUD NOISES ALL NIGHT LONG. COMPLAINTS WERE MADE TO HOTEL MANAGEMENT BUT WERE NOT ADDRESSED. TOILET HAD LOW WATER PRESSURE AND IT WOULD NOT FLUSH. AFTER SEEING THE CONDITION OF MY HOTEL ROOM, I HAD NO DESIRE TO UTILIZE THE GYM OR POOL OR OTHER AMENITIES. FUTURE TRAVEL PLANS WILL NOT INCLUDE WINGATE BY WYNDHAM. "

"This hotel for the exorbitant price was dirty, poorly staffed, cheap room appointments, and bad poorly prepared food. I will never book this hotel again. "

"Worst stay ever. Room was filthy, towels were dirty and stained. Shower had hair all over the toilet and tub. Room smelled very foul. Staff was extremely rude. This hotel does not provide breakfast even though it says it does online. There is even a sign in the lobby that says breakfast from 7am-10am. When asking and literally pointing to the sign I was answered with an attitude stating “why would we provide breakfast?” You shouldn’t advertise breakfast if it’s not included. Worst of all there was constant fighting and yelling and police are there 24/7 banging on everyone’s doors. If I can rate it a 0 I would. I would never return "

"The kitchen was fully equipped. The only downside was the cleanliness of the room. There was a lot of hair from poor guests still in the bathroom and on the bed. Also, the room keys kept getting demagnetized. Otherwise, it was a very good stay."
