"I prepaid for this room on hotels.com. The hotel also charged me. The staff has acknowledged that it shouldn't have happened, but the manager is the only person who can reverse the charge. Over two weeks have passed since I first pointed out the error and the manager will not return my numerous calls."

Roosevelt Inn Mount Rushmore

"For a touristy town like Keystone where you have high end property that comes along with cost or a budget friendly stay that lacks amenities, Roosevelt Inn falls in the middle. I paid US $145/night on a weekend for a 6-person room - 2 double beds (or maybe those were queen) with loft that had 2 single beds. We were a party of 5 adults and 1 teen and it felt cramped. There’s a seating for 2 in the room and a small bathroom. But we didn’t go to Keystone to sit in a hotel - we were there to check out the outdoors. One of single blanket had stain on it and the older woman who checked us in was generous enough to bring a new one for us. The hand soap and body wash were all empty when we came and were only provided 4 towels. The cleaning crew refilled these for us. They wouldn’t clean your room not til you asked for it. The room (or I believe all of the 4th floor) needs updating as it was dated especially the carpet. New updated rooms are available for smaller parties. The hot breakfast was a huge bonus. No incidental deposit is required upon checkin."

"We checked in on May 16th for a two-night stay. On May 17th, when we returned to our room around 2:00 PM, we found that the room had not been cleaned, the beds were not made, and fresh towels had not been provided. When we contacted the front desk, we were informed that housekeeping service had not been scheduled because we had not requested it that morning. However, no one informed us at check-in that such a request was required. Although disappointed, we stated that we could manage without room cleaning as long as fresh towels were provided. We were assured that towels would be sent shortly. After waiting for two hours with no response, I called again and was told the towels were still “in wash” and would be delivered once ready. Even after several more hours, no towels arrived. Around 7:00 PM, we went to the front desk personally and found there had been a staff change. After explaining the situation again, the staff member responded rudely, saying it was not their fault that we had not requested housekeeping earlier. No apology, empathy, or effort to resolve the issue was shown. Most surprisingly, no towels were ever delivered for the rest of the evening or overnight. We checked out the following day, May 18th, around 11:00 AM, after spending nearly 24 hours without basic amenities. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and dismissive attitude of the reception staff made the experience extremely frustrating. I hope management takes this matter seriously and"

"The person that checked us in was just incredible. She was kind and friendly and all around very personable. The property itself was wonderful for a family trip to an indoor pool area. It was really cool. The pizza place/bar hooked on was so good. My only complaint was that it was very dark inside, but I don’t think there was much that could be done. There were several lights it just was because the window faced the pool. "

6/10 Okay

"Wobbly tables in breakfast room. No one to tend to breakfast and resupply items without being asked. I miss having eggs every morning. Water not very hot in shower. Things we liked: well stocked kitchen in room, nice flooring, full length mirror lovely Induction stove top."
